Today’s Flickr photo with the most hits shows a water cistern in the underground city of Kaymakli, in Turkey. The cities were inhabited over a number of centuries at times of stress and danger.  They are a fascinating place to visit with excavated churches, oil presses, school rooms, living accommodation, granaries, livestock pens.

Walking inside the Underground city, where we only had a chance to see 5% of it.
