I picked this book up from my local library because it looked cute and fun. What I didn’t know is that it would be very gripping and educational to boot. You know those vet shows on Animal Planet? Imagine something like that, but it’s a doctor and a witch and their patients are mythical creatures. This book blends science and magic, “modern” and “folk” medicine in a very interesting way. The art is amazing, and the story of Ziska trying to live up to her full potential is very captivating. Kaziya is obviously a very skilled writer and artist, and I am very much looking forward to her future works. I highly recommend picking this up.
