One man's scrap pile, another's Droid
~They brought him home... They really brought him home.~ Kazouk blinked, looking at his brother. He wasn't sure what he was feeling and neither was anyone else now aboard the shuttle. He was so use to hiding his reactions by now that it was second nature, it was more of an attempt to frown, smile, or anything in between. It was all part of the jobs he'd held in the past, not that it matters as much anymore.
They all looked like they had gone through hell and made it back. There was a look of torment in some of their eyes from a casual glance he made around the deck. Some still looked ready to tear one another's eyes out. Kazouk had dealt with Sith playing mind games but this looked to be on a whole other level.
A loud clank snapped him out of thinking. The sound drew his eyes on to what may have been... No, was a droid. It looked like a human having an epileptic seizure, it's systems trying to power on but the lack of intact circuitry failing to make it happen. Kazouk knew what was coming next as Aurhia approached him.
"Don't tell me.... Someone thought he was a problem and so now I need to fix their mistake." He said, a knowing smirk spreading across his lips. Aurhia looked to have been caught off guard, probably having spent some time trying to think of the best way to word it to avoid agitating Kazouk. He appreciated the gesture but it wasn't necessary. She nodded, giving him a half smile, it would have been a full one had it been under different circumstances. "leave him on the shuttle and I'll take him to my Freighter for repairs. I don't have much credits or parts so I hope you can cover it's costs." His tone flat, more facts being stated void of anger.
Kazouk then turned around, walking back in to the cockpit of the shuttle, closing the door behind himself. For the duration of the trip most were quiet besides Saam. Even with the door sealing most of the sound he could hear the disgust and hatred that came from the backroom. ~Spending two days on Oricon.... Let's hope something can be done to fix what you've went through Saam.~
The return trip was much easier. First stop was with the Death Trap aboard a space station, letting Aurhia and Saam transfer ships. The second was on Republic fleet's Carrick station. This is where old man Chaffis, Leiylla, both former Nexu officers said their goodbyes as they walked out with France, a rookie to the Sokan Defence Force that Saam was expected to serve under. That's if he ever recovered from his deranged state of mind.
The next hour passed by slowly. Having to contact Tinny, his protocol droid to come and help with carrying what remained of SeeZee back to his ship and wait in the meantime.
Out of the corner of his eye he noticed SeeZee still twitching on the hull of the shuttle, he shook his head walking closer to get a better look. No one had bothered to do anything about it, his power source would deplete if this kept up. With an agitated sign he slipped on his gloves to avoid his implants or himself from being harmed by any loose sparks coming out of the droid. Kazouk raised his fist and banged the side of SeeZee's frame. There was a click and the back of the frame looked to have popped off. He turned the droid around, looking over the damaged area.
This wasn't a model Kazouk was use to tampering with so he needed to learn the layout first. Luckily for Kazouk the droid seemed similar to most battle droids in layout of components, he's messed with the Imperial Security variant more times than he could count now that he thought about it, he chuckled in response thinking back at it. Eventually Tinny arrived with a simple carrying platform, ready for transport of SeeZee.
Within an hour he was in Kazouk's room sprawled on the table. He had connected the memory core to his datapad, running scans to see if there was any damage. In the meantime he was cleaning the external components so it would be easier to assess what needed to be replaced and what could be repaired.
Another hour passed and now he was taking a caff break thanks to Saeta having walked in with a mug. It's the small things that she did that helped. The scan was complete which had eased the man somewhat, knowing that the droid at it's core would be the same regardless of the replacements. His motivator was scrapped as were his sensors. He was curious at this point want the real Oricon was like, without the force manipulation surrounding the planet courtesy of the dread masters.
So he set to work, rewiring SeeZee's systems. The more of the acquired Czerka model he saw the more he started to appreciate it's simplicity. It was clear that the model had it entered the markets would be a high end battle droid. ~No wonder Saam nabbed one for himself after the Adjudicators took over the CZ-198 complex.~ He smiled at the thought. Before long SeeZee was ready to be rebooted.
Kazouk flicked the switch, watching SeeZee come to life. "This... this... This is Czerka Battle droid model number Fifty-one. Visual sensors offline, audible sensors online, cybernetic neural sensors online. Language systems and translation algorithms active. If you can hear me please identify yourself." SeeZee spun his head from side to side much like a blind man trying to see again. Kazouk smiled, placing a hand on the droids shoulder. "SeeZee... I am Kazouk Zolak, my brother is your commanding officer. We have recovered you both." He responded slowly. The smile was more to do with being pleased at his own progress but that didn't matter.
SeeZee turned his head towards Kazouk, tilting it to the side in an attempt to look curious. "Inquiry: Where is Commander Zolak?"
Kazouk chuckled, shaking his head as he lifted his hand away from the droid. He reached for a spanner before going back to repairing SeeZee. "Loyal droid aren't you? I'm sure if he was in your place he'd as the same. Saam was recovered as well... He is being taken back to heal. I'm sure you have files on the effects Oricon has on organics. Now... I thought while I repair you we could maybe talk regarding what happened on Oricon and what the planet is like. I have many questions to ask."
SeeZee shook his head. "Concern: Much like Commander Zolak, you do not follow procedure regarding top sec-"
"You will give me at least this bit after having organized this search and rescue for you both." Kazouk said, sounding rather agitated at this point.
"Submission: Very well.... Beginning scans of recorded files."
Kazouk grinned wolfishly, looking to SeeZee. ~Good.~
