Critical Role Next Generation Moodboards: Asar Clay
When Nila saved her mate and child from the Iron Shepherds, they agreed to stay at the Blooming Grove and tend to the temple while Caduceus travelled with the Mighty Nein. Even after the rest of the Clay family was saved, they remained at the Grove. Eventually, it was Asar who asked, with all the innocent confusion of a child, if that meant that he and his family were Clays too. Nowadays, Asar Clay adventures as a Circle of the Grove Druid, seeking to help person and animal alike in his travels. He also seeks answers and solutions to the Savalirwood’s corruption alongside the rest of his family. No matter where his journey takes him, the Grove is never far from him.
The Circle of the Grove subclass comes from the Venture Maidens Campaign Guide; an excerpt describing the subclass says:
Many druids of this circle draw their power from a particular place in the world. These sacred places, called “groves,” are lovingly tended, natural spaces where primordial magic grows free from the influence of people. These groves are typically watched over by a single elder druid called a “warden,” but all druids tied to this circle are welcome to meet, meditate, or take shelter in these sacred spaces.
