This past Wednesday night was easily one of the happiest of my life. I celebrated an important milestone in my career: #DesertNights Seven Year Anniversary…For anyone involved in putting on nights in Los Angeles, or anywhere else for that matter, you understand how much work, time, energy, nerves, dedication, commitment and all the rest of it, go into showing up every week for something…Of course, this is also possible because #TheStandard is truly a place that goes the distance to support art…Be it with their DJ program, or live events, it's truly one of a kind. Wednesday was also my actual birthday, and there was this one moment where I stood behind the stage, looked what was in front of me, and took count of my life…Where I come from…Where I’ve been…An immigrant from a tiny, war-torn country in Europe and the road I’ve traveled to get to this point…Surrounded by friends, family, co-workers, art and music, in this gorgeous place, in the middle of one of the most beautiful cities in the world…and I thought to myself: I really am the luckiest person on Earth. Thank you, all.
