It's alive! ⚡ A monster has been born, and its coming for you, Kansas City. Not to suck your blood or steal your babies... oh no, this monster is all about making and sharing zines! We're proud to share this year's poster; thanks to Casey Babb, the honorary Dr. Frankenstein of zine-land, for his incredible design. We love our new zine-making mascot monster!

KC Zine Con is proud to announce that we are partnering with the spectacular LaBudde Special Collections at UMKC to host KCZC#4 at UMKC’s Pierson Auditorium on Saturday, September 8th, 2018.

LaBudde has been a KCZC partner since year one and is home to one of the city’s largest local zine archives. We love ‘em. And we’re excited to return to Pierson Auditorium: a large, bright and accessible space that will allow us to feature even more tabling zinesters than ever before!

Tabler Applications will be open on May 8th. We initially anticipated opening them this week, however, we felt it was best to give all prospective tablers time to make plans, pencil the date into their calendar, and read our forthcoming accessibility document without feeling rushed or hurried. If you have any questions about the space, accessibility, the tabling application, or KCZC in general, feel free to drop us a line at [email protected] <3

Big News Coming Soon!

Thanks to all the amazing artists who applied to be our 2018 Poster Artist! There are so. many. AMAZING. entries! Choosing just one artist is going to be tough! We'll be announcing who we've chosen later this week (as well as opening up this year's Tabler Applications!)

Zinesters, writers, artists and creatives... come harvest some zines! This free, drop-in workshop will walk you through the process of creating a 6-page zine from a single sheet of paper. Collage materials will be provided. All ages and skill levels are welcome! (Note: the zine-making process involves the use of scissors, so children should be supervised by an adult.) Participants should drop-in at Imagine That! (2010 McGee Street KCMO) anytime between 2pm - 3:30pm to create their zine. Each participant will receive a zine-making guide, as well as 5 b&w copies of the zine they make (while supplies last). Local zinesters will be on hand to answer questions and help you through the creative process. Trading is encouraged! Make a zine, then trade it with other participants to grow your zine harvest! Donations are welcome, and will support Kansas City Zine Con #4!
