He’s giving Eddie an out, letting Eddie decide how far they go. Knowing Buck, he’s not just asking regarding Eddie’s condition, but in general, the two of them together. He’s making sure this is a line Eddie wants to cross.
Eddie would be hard pressed to find a line that he would not cross for Buck.
“Buck,” he says seriously, his brain supplying him with a flash of a memory—the safety being flicked off a handgun. “You and me…” He licks his lips. Buck watches. “If you’ll give me everything, I’ll take it.”
