Imagine like there's this villain that's always causing trouble and is just always being a little shit and the protagonists are fed up with them and they find out that the villain is married so they try to hold the spouse hostage to make the villain scared but they just laugh and the protagonists find out that the villains spouse is a completely ruthless badass who's been the mastermind behind all of their love's plans all along and they're all evil and scary But then they turn to each other and are just like "how was your trip, darling?" And kiss each other all sweetly before turning back around and brutally punishing the protagonists
