My rating: 6.5/10
I had high hopes which fell flat spectacularly in the second half of this show (more fool me for expecting any decent thriller in the year of our lord 2026)
Nam goong min is great at portraying stoic characters but somehow his behaviour felt inconsistent in the show. I couldn't feel his desperation that you'd reasonably expect and that was offputting. Lee seol was great during the whole kidnapping episode but just faded into the background during the rest (poor character writing at its finest)
The script felt shoddy, especially with the procedurals, and I actively despised the police cause they only served as a plot device.
I think the biggest failing of The Husband is that the show tried to do too much with too little and that just led to the story crumbling in on itself. Kim dae myeong was an excellent villain until his character just became infuriating.
As a medical drama, this was pretty interesting (it really appealed to my biotech heart) but as a thriller it just got repetitive and boring. Great first half but a shoddy second half and incompetent police are the Achilles heels of this show.
