Sometimes when jeremy gets too drunk and decides to spend the night in the bathtub, matt and trevor will join them. Not like in the actual tub with them, they just post up in the bathroom to keep them company and sometimes end up falling asleep on the bathroom floor

I don't know why. But i imagine Matt and Trevor playing Magic the Gathering on the floor while Jeremy hums to themself. One of them set up a Bluetooth speaker and is playing 2000s alt rock softly.

At one point, while Matt is deciding how to spend his turn, Trevor is sitting, leaning against the sink cabinet, one arm resting on his knee, just smiling fondly at Jeremy. Jeremy's face is smushed into the edge of the tub, drool pooling under their half open mouth.

When Matt finally takes his turn, he wins and let's out a little woop of victory. Startling Jeremy awake briefly for a slurred "Yay Matt... You won!"

In the morning Jeremy thinks they were playing Pokemon TCG.

Matt and Jeremy are the perfect storm of doesn’t listen properly and too awkward to ask again that I can see Matt asking one day if they’d wanna get married and Jeremy’s only half paying attention so they’re like “to you?” and Matt jokes “no, to Gavin” but then Jeremy just starts answering it like a casual question like “eh, I like Gavin but not enough to stay married I think. Maybe to Trevor ‘cause I’d be co-boss of the crew, hey Michael if you had to marry-“ and Matt’s WAY too awkward at this point to ask if that was a yes or no to his proposal so he just rides the whole conversation out

Oh my god. Poor Matt. Michael would be playing along with it just trying not to laugh in Matt's face. Because it's so sad and hilarious.

Jeremy wouldn't clue in until he got to Matt and was weighing the pros and cons, because by this point they have a verbal/mental pros and cons board for each member.

So he's like. Pros: Matt is my boyfriend. He gives soft hugs. He never has and never will judge my physical appearance. Cons: makeout sessions can be annoying because he leaves beard burn.

Matt is just sitting there even more embarrassed.

Jeremy finally slows down and kinda loses his train of thought as it occurs to him that maybe Matt was asking about marrying him... and it's been a three hour discussion and oh fuck. And he glances up and fully looks at Matt for the first time and is like. Oh shit fuck balls.

And quietly squeaks out a yes.

And Matt at this point is too in his head with anxiety and embarrassment and is completely confused.

Michael yells MAZZELTOF (even though none of them are Jewish) and leaves them, howling with laughter to find something to eat.

It takes another 10m of awkward, shy, stuttery conversation before Matt and Jeremy have 100% cleared it up. Matt shyly produces a little box. Then watches in more confusion as Jeremy takes off to get his backpack, it's by the front door. When he comes back, he puts it on his chair and starts rooting through it... only to pull out a second little box.

They're both crying as they open their boxes and see their rings. Jeremy's ring is a centerpiece of Ametrine. It's surrounded by several tiny diamonds. Matt's is more complicated, being a recreation of a spiritual stone from Ocarina of Time. They're both crying because they each adore their rings so much.

I like to imagine the flipside of that matt and jeremy marriage ask was the start of them dating, where they both liked each other but didn't wanna ruin the friendship, but jeremy would get moments of bravery and be like "okay I'll just send him this really flirty post/meme and see what he says" but matt was absolutely oblivious to romantic advances and would always be like "oh mood". when they eventually got together he was blown away by the news that jeremy had been flirting the whole time

It’s part like... Shitty self esteem. And just like. Part of being demisexual, I think (especially on Matt’s part).

So they’re doing that millennial kinda flirty-friendly sharing memes and things the other would like. And they’re both outrageously flirting, but assuming the other is just being a good friend and junk. They ARE best friends, after all.

And they’ve been doing it for years. Everyone else in the crew knows they’re into each other (Michael and Gavin have been encouraging Jeremy and Matt respectively to confess).

Eventually (finally!), Jeremy invites Matt out on a date, just them (as soon as he sends the text, he’s riddled with anxiety). They grab dinner and visit the planetarium (something that they both enjoy, but rarely do. It’s a bit expensive and they rarely have the time).

At first, Matt just thinks it’s a fun hangout, a day to chill and explore and whatever. Be best friends. But he slowly picks up on how shy and flustered Jeremy is. How Jeremy wore the cute jeans with the ripped out knees that make his butt and thighs look great and a nice shirt. He’d even touched up the colour in his hair. At a certain point he texts Gavin and flat out asks him if they were on a date (always better to get confirmation before making a fool of oneself). And when Gavin tells him Of course it is, you daft moron! Matt knows for sure.

He also knows Jeremy. Knows Jeremy’s probably agonizing over everything, too shy and unsure of Matt and Matt’s reactions to do anything. So when they’re looking at a diorama of some shuttle or other, Matt slips his hand into Jeremy’s.

Jeremy is, predictably, extremely flustered. But he doesn’t pull away.

Later, when Jeremy is dropping Matt off at his apartment building, Matt is slow to leave the car, hesitating before leaning over the console and pecking Jeremy on the cheek before asking him if he wants to come up and play Minecraft.

They don’t do anything other than hang out, but as far as first dates go... This was one of those first dates that lasts several days. Neither wanting it to end, and wanting to keep hanging out...

(When Gavin tells the others that Matt had had to ask him to confirm if it was a date, money changed hands... Alfredo ended up winning the betting pool, and they all had a good laugh at the couple’s expense. How dense can you be?!)

Also love imagining them like, all cuddled up sleeping in one morning when Jeremy’s the first one up. They’re like “oh shit guys we gotta get to work” and the other two groan “nooo five more minutes, just call the boss and tell ‘em we’re all sick” and Jeremy’s like “Trevor you are the boss” and Trevor responds “good then I already know” and buries his face in Matt to go back to sleep. Bonus if they’re all living in the penthouse so they’re like a 10 second walk from work but still refuse it, I just love silly domestic shenanigans for these boys

Domestic shenanigans just in general are the BEST. That found family dynamic is what I adore about FAHC.

Jeremy would text Jack like: Trevor knows but we three are calling in "sick", heads up...

She'd text back like WHAT WE HAVE HEIST PREP FJSBFISHFKANF

Jeremy just looking at his phone with a fond smile before turning it off and craving back in with his sweets.

You know the tiktok trend where one partner makes a presentation like “this is who i would cheat on my partner with” and the first one is no one, and the second is a meme and then it cuts off? Here’s an example one.

FAHC Jeremy doing that to Matt, and the “joke” one is Trevor... Who is their partner as well. Alternatively it’s his favourite character for Borderlands or like a Wrestler or something. Matt thinks it’s hilarious.

Imagining Jack talking to Trevor one day like “I think Jeremy and Matt are a couple” and he’s like “what makes you say that?”. Jack explains how every time one of them has a day off, the other always seems to make some excuse to get out of meetings or jobs and she’s pretty sure they’re meeting each other instead, says that if they’re in a relationship it’s not a problem obviously but she wanted to let Trevor know to talk to them about it since he’s always busy off in his office and might not notice. He thanks Jack and tells her he’ll definitely have a talk with them, then as soon as she’s out of the room he texts them both “guys we have to cancel the date they’re on to us”

Oh my god. Okay this can work both shippy or platonic best friends tho.

Platonic: they're skipping work to play games or just do like. Best friends platonic dates, right? They have a good laugh about Jack thinking their dating and intentionally play it up as a big f**kface. Eventually it comes out and everyone laughs or is playfully outraged.

Shippy: they try to get craftier... to their detriment. Eventually they have to come out with it.

Lindsay would coo over them and tell them they make a cute polycue. Jack would be frustrated but affectionate. Michael would rib them in good fun.

Gavin would too, but also have an aside with whoever he's closest to (personally I like Matt, because I think they have amazing friendship chemistry) and shyly ask like. If they're (them and Gavin) good. If they're happy. If they're being treated right. Etc. Just like. Overly kind and thoughtful because he loves them.

Alfredo would do similar but specifically with Trevor. But specifically more bloodthirsty like. They BETTER be treating you right! Or ELSE!!

Actually, since everybody's been talking about dad Geoff and his queer crew, do you have any hcs/ideas about how everybody in the crew comes out or how the others find out? I kind of picture Gavin completely avoiding it until that night with Michael because he's scared of what they'll say, whereas Michael's more like "yeah I'm gay, you got a problem with that?? wanna fight about it??" but he has no idea what to say next if they're actually loving and supportive

So I’m going to put in my headcanons on how they came out, and what their orientation and gender are. A note, some of my fics don’t share these, but usually have two or three of these in them.

This ended up being really long, so full post under the cut.

Jeremy (Rimmy Tim): They/He Nonbinary person, Bi. Jeremy kind of had to come out since he was assigned female at birth. Matt and Trevor knew him longer, before any of them joined the crew. They didn’t know him before he came out, but met him maybe 7 or 8 months after he started HRT. When they joined the crew, Jack was the first to know. Jeremy assumed because she was also trans she would be understanding, and she was. He told Geoff one-on-one, and then the rest of the crew during an informal family meeting (everyone had questions, but were understanding and supportive).

Michael: He/Him Cisgender Man, Pan. Michael didn’t really ever come out. His thought was it was his business what he labeled himself, and if anyone had any issues, they were going to have a bad time. Everyone kinda clued in when he and Gavin started dating (while he and Lindsay had already been dating. There was always open communication, and Lindsay was supportive from the start).

Gavin: Pronoun Indifferent, though most often uses He/Him, Queer, Demisexual and Demiromantic (specifically Queer is a radical reclamation of the identity/slur for him. Queer is both his gender and part of his orientation). It was hard for Gavin to come out. Geoff and Jack are parental figures, even if they aren’t all that much older than him. With Michael and Lindsay, he started questioning and talking to them. He doesn’t really define it past queer for anyone. (Lindsay and him are queer platonic, Meg is also dating him and Lindsay, but not Michael). Gavin is often sex repulsed, specifically with himself in the scenario.

Jack: She/They Transgender Woman, Pan. Jack came out to Geoff first and foremost. They were friends before she began to transition, and he was supportive all the way. She never had to come out to the rest of the crew, literally wearing her gender on her shoulder.

Geoff: He/Him. He hasn’t labeled anything, but he’s some flavour of not-cishet and in general questioning. Through the rest of the crew he began questioning. He’s said before that he’s something or other, but feels too old to try and figure out what his orientation is. (This is very similar to something IRL Geoff has said, as well).

Lindsay: They/Them Nonbinary person, Bi. Lindsay, much like IRL Lindsay, knew they were Bi early. A little projection on my part, they knew as early as middle school. Their relationship with gender is messier. It was hard to find the words, they’re a little older than Jeremy, so when they were in their early 20s, “nonbinary” simply wasn’t a phrase. They’ve only more recently been able to define it, and are still working through what all this means for them. (Michael, Meg, and Gavin are all very supportive, as are the remainder of the crew).

Alfredo: He/Him Cisgender Man, Biromantic, Demisexual. Alfredo just loves who he loves. He’s a very sensual person, but his relationship to sex is complicated. He enjoys feeling confident and sexy, but not being objectified.

Trevor: He/Him Cisgender Man, Pan. Trevor is very similar to Alfredo, he simply loves who he loves. He’s very supportive of his found family and works on being a good ally. He reads a lot of LGBTQ+ literature to better understand, advocate, and appreciate his family.

Fiona: She/Her Nonbinary person, Bi with a preference for femininity. Fiona doesn’t explain her gender to people she doesn’t trust. She’s very masculine, but prefers the pronouns associated with the gender she was assigned at birth. She loves women of all shapes and sizes.

Matt: He/Him Nonbinary person, Panromantic Demisexual. Similar to Fiona, Matt is most comfortable with the pronouns he was assigned and doesn’t define his gender to people he doesn’t know or trust. He loves who he loves and loves freely and deeply. He is somewhat sex repulsed, but it varies on head space, mood, etc.

Everyone is a little poly depending, and some of them are dating each other or outside the crew. It’s very freeform and just. Whatever. Even if they’re not romantically or sexually attracted to each other, there’s an overwhelming feeling of family and/or queer platonic partner.

Some haven’t had the “sit down and talk/explain” type coming outs. Sometimes it simply is. Often the actual moment of “coming out” is something like “I’m too gay for this shit” or, upon seeing someone they vibe with “Oh I am SO bi”, that type of thing.
