Maybe California made you soft. Made you forget how ignorant and hateful people are. Remember how she retreated as soon as your hands touched?Like you were infected. Tainted. She couldnt even look at you - she was too busy looking at your choker.
You knew this would happen. Everyone did and yet you're surprised? Hurt? You touched the stove and now you're surprised by the blisters on your hands? Did you really hold some form of hope that maybe it'd be different?
You saw how they looked at you and really thought your answers, experience, and personality could change what they already saw in you?
It doesnt matter how well you conducted yourself.
It doesnt matter how nicely you smiled and nodded, your polite laughter.
You're you and I mean that in the worst way.
You're naive.
Grow up.
And stop crying.
