“My family has always sought to learn more of and from the past. Funding and leading expeditions into lands that haven’t been touched in centuries. We seek to learn the untold and forgotten stories of this world. For the past has much to tell, we only need to be willing to listen.”
Ceara Ilthien is the daughter of Stormwind nobility, born to Baron Conloach and Baroness Fianna Ilthien. She was blessed with a younger brother when she was five summers old. Soon after, her magical abilities began to make their appearance. However, neither fire, ice, or arcane magicks flew from her fingertips. It was the wind itself that came to her command.
Ceara's father and mother were hard pressed to find her a tutor. There were no mages who could control the wind, so they had to turn to the elemental masters to help Ceara learn to control her abilities. Baron Conloach finally found a tutor for his daughter in the form of a Wildhammer shaman. Though Ceara couldn't quite grasp the elemental teachings, they did prove essential in Ceara learning to control her abilities, becoming able to call air and wind, and push it to her own designs.
Unfortunately, tragedy struck soon after. She lost both her brother and her parents soon after her thirteenth birthday as the family was attacked by bandits while traveling through Westfall. They were slain, and Ceara was only able to survive thanks to her father's seneschal.
Ceara's life continued mostly as it had before, her lessons and studies mostly uninterrupted after her family's funeral. However, it was halted after her uncle, the now Baron Caradac barged his way into her life and home and turned it all upside down. Caradac all but emptied the Ilthien family vault with his extensive gambling, debts, and expensive private parties. All that remained was what Ceara's parents and grandfather had set aside for her, untouchable by anyone but her.
Ceara found herself entirely alone when her Uncle disapeared just days before her eighteenth birthday while on route to Lakeshire. His body was never found.
And so Ceara became the sole proprietor, heir, and last living member of the Ilthien estate and family. With the fortune left to her by those who had gone, she sought to reforge and renew the name of Ilthien. Looking to her grandfather and her own passion for history, she dove into Archeology and refilled their vaults with relics of times long past.
Since her grandfather’s time, the Ilthien family has spent much time and coin on funding and leading expeditions to discover and unearth the lost and forgotten history of Azeroth.
When the mists parted and Pandaria was open to the world again, Ceara was quick to take up the opportunity to explore this once isolated land and discover its secrets. After some time there, she became well acquainted with the Lorewalkers and found a kinship with its members, soon joining their ranks. She also found a new master, and came back from Pandaria with a deeper control and understanding over her wind magicks.
With a deepened thirst to explore and discover, Ceara returned from Pandaria to seek out and record the stories and tales that tell this world’s history.
Ceara is very kind and well-mannered. Most would think her unintelligent by her mannerisms, her naivete, and blind enthusiastic optimism, and inability to say 'no'. What they don't see is the influential charm behind the kind words and simple touches, the cunning behind the warm words and bright eyes.
She is charismatic and determined, with a touch of cunning that allows her to manipulate others with her sweet smiles and charming words . She has a kind, caring, and generous heart which makes her well loved by her staff and the pack of orphans and strays she has invited into her humble estate.
Her kind and generous spirit, and what seems to be a complete lack of ability to say no to anyone, has caused Ceara to be walked on and used many times in the past.
