Javik is not at all used to having friends. Not anymore.

He finds it easier, in this cycle, to distance himself to the point where he does not have nor need any friends, as he claims he sees them mostly as distractions.

In truth, he had many friends along his life in his own cycle, despite how it may seem. It always ended the same way, in death, pain, and suffering, and the point in which he tried to distance himself only occurred in the last few decades of his life, which was around 350 years long (as he had said he was born somewhere in the middle of a 700 year period, that being said he was quite a rare case, as many protheans barely lived longer than one hundred, though they are a race that could live to the ripe old age of one thousand were they healthy enough).

He's generally much more stand offish and aloof than he had been before, whereas before he was actually fairly charismatic and moderately friendly for one of their kind-- as was slightly necessary when you were a commander.

It is very difficult to tell when he considers you a friend, especially as his attitude rarely changes. Although, the protectiveness is a bit hard to hide.

The biotic lets himself sink deeper into the shuttle seat, struggling to bring his breathing to a normal pace. His nerves are fraying more with each mission, but at least he has Tali to help keep things normal when Shepard starts losing her mind. Grinning, he twists his head to look at the quarian, eyes almost closed with exhaustion. “You’ll have to teach me that trick one day. I’ve never seen her make that face before.”

SOMEBODY certainly doesn’t seem like he wants to put up with a drunken quarian’s ramblings about how much he ‘secretly likes the crew’ (specifically that damnable ASARI) and that he’s a ‘liar’ for denying it.

Mordin blinked, mildly surprised to see the quarian enter his work space. The salarian only took his large eyes off the screen in front of him for a minute to acknowledge her presence with a polite nod and slight smile. “Tali. Always pleasant to see you. Is there something you need? Busy at the moment, otherwise would be more accommodating.’

Admittedly, it wasn’t a perfect arrangement, but nothing ever was. However, it was shaping much better than she expected and that put her at a certain unease. Alexandra was not a woman who was easily fooled; experience made her far wiser than her years. She was the predator, not the prey. And yet with Cerberus, she do things the way she wanted to. The person that she was didn’t need to be pushed deep down inside of her. It was that very part which Cerberus wanted. Her battle on Torfan wasn’t something that was simply chalked up to the stress of warfare, but she was seen as doing what was needed. As the final mission drew closer, she came to think seriously about the future — she damn well wasn’t going to die, she knew that — and what might happen when the Collectors were finally defeated. It’s early evening and she came into Tali’s quarters, a small smile gracing her lips as she leaned against the doorway. “I hope you’re not busy?”
