April 3rd at The Bluebird: Zeds Dead, Shy Guy Says and The Dub Knight
If you were looking for a show to kick off your Spring and celebrate the end of all the cold weather, look no further: Keepin' it Deep presents none other than Zeds Dead, along with our local bass heroes, Shy Guy Says and The Dub Knight.
Comprised of DJ/producers, DC and Hooks, Zeds Dead has been cooking up some mad bass since they first launched in 2010. Throughout their discography you can find heavy influences of dubstep, drum and bass, tech house, hip hop, and glitch hop. These guys love touring and doing live shows so much that back in 2012 they did over 70 shows in just 84 days and called it The Living Dead Tour. Some early productions that really gained them a big following include their remixes of Eyes on Fire by Blue Foundation, and White Satin by The Moody Blues. Zeds Dead is signed with Mad Decent, has been featured multiple times on Diplo and Friends, and already has a BBC Radio One essential mix under their belt (which is a stellar mix, I might add). Most of you may recognize one of Zeds Dead's more popular tracks, Ratchet, as it was played in almost every trap/bass set imaginable last year. I highly recommend checking out their more comical "Meow Version" of the same track. Get ready to throw some "Z"s in the air when these heavy hitters take to the stage at The Bluebird next Thursday!
The Dub Knight (who goes by Jake Marsh when he's not on the job taking down criminals of the bass world) has been steadily raising the bar for Indiana DJs since late 2011, and has quickly shown a great aptitude for reading a crowd and feeding the right energy into a show. His focus lies mainly in trap these days, but The Dub Knight has a foundation in dubstep and heavy bass, which makes for a real treat when you experience his sounds on the dance floor. Jake has played at Spring Awakening and Electric Forest, opened for Diplo at last year's Indy 500, and now will be opening for Zeds Dead, which he says has been a dream of his:
"Zed's Dead has been a major influence on me and remained a favorite of mine since I first discovered them back in 2011. I've seen them live so many times now I've lost count! I love everything about them, from their original productions to their style of mixing, and even their song selection; it's all resonated with me since I first began DJing back in September of 2011. I'm beyond excited to be able to share the stage with them and I owe it all to Keepin' It Deep, who has supported me since the beginning."

Our second opener for Zeds Dead is Bloomington's own Shy Guy Says, who likes to pull out some booshin’ bass in his mix of dubstep, trap, and general mushroom kingdom madness. Shy Guy is an avid producer and DJ, whose sound is reminiscent of Wario's dirtiest nightclub (if there existed such a thing).
