There is saying in my country that the public hospital H.U.E.H. is where people (the proletariat) find good doctors without money. As surprising as it might sound, the first prescription they make when you get there is to bring (buy) medical gloves as if they donโt have them. It is said that the doctors used them for personal use. The conditions are so bad that a little problem can result in greater complications. Furthermore, materials are lacking which cause people to die without being diagnosed. Some doctors do not even bother to come to work, they prefer to manage their private clinics. ย Since the public hospital H.U.E.H. is subsidized mainly by the private sector, limiting the services to a minimum would have the people to turn to private hospitals where those services are charged at a higher price. Health Minister signed contract with private mortuaries, but public servants cannot be paid. It also is no secret that people sometimes gave birth in flashlight because, oftentimes, there is no electricity. Guess whoโs in charge of the electricity? I come to understand that we are not to young die. No MRI; in private hospitals, it is quite expensive. The mom died while being transferred, the hospital could not diagnose her heart condition. A few minutes later, the 8-month-old baby died inside of her because of lack of oxygen. If they donโt pay upfront, they will not be receiving services from the doctors in private clinics or hospitals even if they are people are dying. After, witnessing many of those senseless deaths, I wonder really life does not have a price tag. Silly question, dumb answer. In the end, those people were killed by the government. After all, hospitals in my country are tightly linked to the death hall that is lucrative to some.
