My current favourite thing about John Barrowman being in I’m a Celebrity is you can very clearly see him switch into Captain Jack mode.
When he’s in John mode he’s quite the squealer, he constantly switches accents (it’s doing my nut in because I NEVER KNOW WHO’S TALKING) and is generally very OTT. When he’s in Captain Jack mode he’s steady and calm and solid and he sticks with an American accent.
The clearest switch to see is during the Croc Creek night trial, when they were trying to win treats for Snake Rock. When the first spider falls on him he squeals a little bit, but the moment he saw that Malique was more scared than he was, you could see him switch into Captain Jack mode, gently reassuring everyone that it was ok, they were just spiders and they could do it.
