Normally it was a pretty rare occurrence for Steele to have much of anyone come across and be kind to him in some way. Maybe it was because he didn't exactly look friendly or anything. Maybe it was because dogs weren't too terribly common in some parts of the world and that even less seemed to be around in ancient times? He wouldn't be able to tell to be honest, but he at least was under the impression that he wasn't hated or anything here. It was a better start than most places he seemed to go at least.
And it seemed Meg was friendly enough. Maybe he could swipe her for some sympathy and get some free food. That was always a good option in his mind and he was more than willing to test the theory out. After all, if it didn't work, he could always try again later. It was a win-win!
He approached her with a bit of caution and he lifted his head a bit to look at Meg and gave a friendly tail wag as he walked closer to her, sniffing her gently to see fi she truly was friendly and all. It didn't take long for him to make that decision and he got up on his hind legs to move his head in to lick her face a few times before she told him to get down, which he obliged.
He gave a few more friendly tail wags and gave an excited bark as he circled her a few times, just trying to see if she had any food on her, which he found she didn't. Which was a bit disappointing, but maybe he could still try and coax her into giving some food and all. So that was his next plan.
He sat in front of her and tilted his head to one side, giving a few small whine to try and indicate he was hungry. Whether or not she would get the message he wasn't entirely sure of, but he liked his chances if he was honest.
Maybe she would help him out, maybe she wouldn't. That was entirely dependent on how she was feeling and there was only so much he could do to try and convey he wanted good. After all, it wasn't like any was around for him to motion to, so... it may just turn into a giant guessing game between the two of them.
