Autumn comes just the same
Fallen leaves might as well be hearts broken again
The passion dies as the warmth of summer goes south
We are forced to relive this darkness through the winter months
Having no choice, so we hibernate
Those long cold nights in the December air
Wrapped in wool; your mind in another world
Listening to Delilah, not a song you haven't heard
Fall they call it, a thing of beauty
For those of us who found summer love, we’ll dispute it
Once upon a time love lasted year-round
But if you’re foreign true love never cool down
A don’t suppose I’ll be here next year this time
To feel like this is not meant for my kind
After spring I’ll make a dash for it before summer
And when autumn falls next year I’m keeping my lover
