(1995) Addams Family Values

this matches the genesis version but the samples elevate the quality far above the FM instrumentation.

it has an amazing tense atmospheric vibe to it.

“Deadly Flowers” is great.

so is “House of the Dead”

(1992) Push-Over

at its worst, this is super saccharine.

at its best, it’s almost atmospheric. it’s a good mixed bag, or at least better than the title screen may imply

(1995) The Flintstones

this is a bop?

lots of sampled breaks and oldschool (M1) sounds.

“Staff Roll” sounds like a legit XM module from some demoscene production.

that said there’s a very chill edge to all of these tracks. they’re not bangers, but they’re delightful. see “Quarry” for example.

(1994) The Untouchables

this marks the first time I’ve heard a 909 rim in any chip-based game soundtrack.

and yeah, it’s good. has that 80s driving synth sort of sound. despache mode? idk.

check out “Downtown Shootout”. the laser’s a little muffled but the sound is there

(1992) Cool World

short but decent

check out “Slash Club”

(1993) Dennis the Menace

this somehow reminds me of amiga style compositions. not in texture but just in general flavor.

I’d guess it was related to Martin Iveson since it’s vaguely similar to the score for Wonder Dog, but nope it’s a completely different artist.

anyway it’s alright. try “The Boiler”

(1992) Lethal Weapon

pretty good, though maybe not Dean’s best work!

not to trash it though. it’s still worth a listen

(1993) Super James Pond II

this is.................super cheesy.

“Codename: RoboCod” is probably the best track, but even the title isn’t safe from the cheese.
