Keith actually does have someone waiting for him back on earth. Dr. McNeil was a good friend of his fathers and helped Krolia deliver Keith. He forged Keith's medical records and has done his best to be his only doctor to make sure no one else figured it out. After discovering his galran heritage, Keith is silently thankful that Dr. McNeil kept him out of a lab.
Keith's dad was originally planning on giving Keith his knife for his tenth birthday, but got cancer when Keith was five and gave it to him for his sixth birthday instead. Keith was an orphan by the time he turned seven.
As a kid, Keith found an injured raccoon in the backyard and wanted to nurse it back to health. His dad was kinda scared it had rabies, though, so just moved it far, far away.
Kolivan, Antok, and Keith's Galra parent were close friends when they were kids.
