Evens for Kelivara!
Oh BOY here we go!
2. Their mother? How do they think of her? What do they hate? Love? What influence - literal or imagined - did the mother have?Kelivara does have some love for her mother, but there has been an incredible rift between them since Kelivara left for the military and began traveling on her own. Her mother did influence her in certain ways, mainly in the way she reared her own children, as well as in her ability to show her compassion for others when they need it.4. What type of discipline was your character subjected to at home? Strict? Lenient?Discipline was strict when growing up. She was in a noble family as a child, and into a portion of her adulthood, so living proper was highly emphasized. Discipline was perhaps not so intensely strong as some other extreme traditional families, but it was notable enough.6. Did they feel rejection or affection as a child?Even if discipline was rough, she did feel affection as a child. Her family was by no means cruel, and would spoil her when given the chance, so long as she behaved.8. How does your character feel about religion?Kelivara is vaguely spiritual. I say vaguely, because she doesn’t exactly have a belief system in place – her view is essentially something along the lines of, “there are gods above paving our paths for us, and I care not for their names.” She will often swear, curse, or voice her disbelief/pleasure/whatever by “the gods.” Yeah, she is a paladin, but she doesn’t quite see the Light as a religious or spiritual endeavor as so many others do. However, she doesn’t judge either way; she could not care less for the beliefs of others so long as they do not encroach upon her own.10. Is your character street-smart, book-smart, intelligent, intellectual, slow-witted?Kelivara is fairly quick-witted, and she has picked up a degree of casual wisdom which can only be attained from centuries of travel and exploration, both of places and of people. She grew up with a quality education, funded and encouraged by her family through all of her years before her departure from them. As such, her book-smarts are fair as well. She is no scholar, however, so certain topics and subjects may be lost on her.12. How does their education and intelligence – or lack thereof - reflect in their speech pattern, vocabulary, and pronunciations?Kelivara doesn’t quite speak as fluidly as one would expect for someone with her education, namely due to her often odd use of vocabulary. This is the result of her constant travel and mingling with just about every culture she’s come across – over time her vocabulary came to span that of a great many languages, so finding the right words is sometimes a doozy. If you’re bilingual and you’ve ever tried to translate something really good from one language to another, it often loses its touch. It’s kind of like that. She also doesn’t use contractions in speech. It makes some sentences sound off. It’s also left her with this really weird, and not very placeable accent. It’s a mix of everything, really. 14. Were they involved at school? Sports? Clubs? Debate? Were they unconnected?Kelivara was home-schooled, so being unconnected to others was not an uncommon feeling. She lived rather sheltered and isolated as a noble girl, so the only thing she got out of her education was just that: education.16. What does your character do for a living? How do they see their profession? What do they like about it? Dislike?Kelivara is a weaponsmith by trade, dabbling in armor as she sees fit. She enjoys the profession – the heat and the finesse makes each creation both a rush and a show of pride. She doesn’t make very much money from it, mostly due to being pulled from it often by her military lifestyle, but also due to being unable to set up a stable customer base.18. What did they find abroad, and what did they remember?Kelivara has found much abroad, as she has spent the vast majority of her life away from home. She found enrichment and fulfillment, both emotional and spiritual. At home, she felt as though she had nothing once her husband died. Leaving brought her a lot of new experiences and new perspectives with which to look at the world as a whole. It broke her free from viewing the world from the scope of a sheltered noblewoman.20. What were the most deeply impressive political or social, national or international, events that they experienced?Kelivara would see and attend important political debates, meetings, and discussions while she was still with her family long ago. She was also present for a great number of the wars which played out in her lifetime, as well as the major victories within Azeroth.22. Who are their friends? Lovers? ‘Type’ or ‘ideal’ partner? Her friends tend to be those who she can just be an ass with and have fun. She loves to fight, drink, and eat – friends with which she can share all of that with are golden to her. The only difference with a lover would be the addition of more personal things including confiding in one another and becoming close. She tends to keep friends at a distance emotionally, preferring to keep quiet about how she feels.24. What social groups and activities does your character attend? What role do they like to play? What role do they actually play, usually?Socializing isn’t a thing Kelivara actively seeks; much of the socialization she sees is that of being alongside her allies when stationed/camped out somewhere, or on chance meetings at a tavern. Either she is out with others, or she is home living alone. The role she assumes is often a leading one, especially in organized battle (with troops, leadership, etc.). It is something she simply gravitates towards.26. What does your character’s home look like? Personal taste? Clothing? Hair? Appearance?Kelivara’s home is a relatively large, cabin-type home in Grizzly Hills. It’s very cozy, decorated with furs and woven fabrics and furnished with handcrafted wooden furniture. She didn’t craft most of the furniture herself, but she did construct a number of things inside the home, in addition to the home itself. The whole place just looks like hard work and reward.Kelivara most often wears her silver-blonde hair in some form of braiding, whether it be a style which binds all of her hair into braids, or only a portion. She likes to mix it up and keep it exciting. If there’s one thing she learned as a girl, it was how to do hair. She is almost never found outside of her armor except in casual situations or while hunting. While out casually, she’ll often wear simple clothing, occasionally a sturdy leather tunic for good measure. While hunting, she wears a special set of leathers for both protection and for stealth.28. Who is your character’s mate? How do they relate to him or her? How did they make their choice? She’s currently barking up the tree we know as Albatross Stratustorm (@lyrelark) and they really kicked it off the one day that they tried to kick the crap out of each other during a sparring match. It was romantic. 30. Are they holding on to something in the past? Can he or she forgive?Kelivara holds onto what she believes to be a huge mistake in her life. For this, she feels as though she cannot forgive herself until she makes right the situation. 32. How does your character react to stress situations? Defensively? Aggressively? Evasively? When stressed, Kelivara gets defensive, and in certain situations may become aggressive. Either way, her reactions have the potential to be violent, though she would not seek to hurt people she cares about even when stressed out of her mind.34. Does your character feel self-righteous? Revengeful? Contemptuous? She wouldn’t feel as if any of those descriptions suit here, and I don’t either. She is just a woman trying her best to cope with a long internal struggle which will soon come to light. There is only fear and pain clawing up her negative side.36. Do they like to suffer? Like to see other people suffering? She doesn’t like to see suffering neither in herself, nor in others. However, she often finds herself bringing her suffering back anew, which often makes her wonder if she does like to suffer.38. Are they basically negative when facing new things? Suspicious? Hostile? Scared? Enthusiastic? It depends on the new thing, really. However, she is most often determined and optimistic. She’s a big fan of this thing called hope, even in times where it gets lost in others.40. How is their sense of humor? Do they have one?Kelivara loves a good laugh. She’ll pretty much make a joke of anything – sometimes things that shouldn’t necessarily be joked about. She is, however, considerate enough to avoid making certain jokes when discomfort is voiced.42. What does your character want most? What do they need really badly, compulsively? What are they willing to do, to sacrifice, to obtain?Kelivara seeks, above all else, to reclaim her place in the family she left long ago in order to secure a future for her children. It is the most important thing for her now, and there are many things she would be willing to sacrifice for it. However, new things and people are entering her life which may impede on her goals, as she may just not be willing to let some of them go.44. How badly do they want to obtain their life objectives? How do they pursue them? For now, Kelivara waits. She will find someday soon the opportunity to pursue her goals, but the time is not now.46. Is your character tall? Short? What about size? Weight? Posture? How do they feel about their physical body?Kelivara is about average height, really. She’s approximately 5’8”, so not too tall. She is pleased with her body as it is; she is very strong, her musculature honed over years and years of training and battles. She is, however, still relatively small-framed which works well in her favor, allowing for quicker movement than most of her other broad-chested paladin buddies. 48. How are your character’s gestures? Vigorous? Weak? Controlled? Compulsive? Energetic? Sluggish? Her gestures are very intentional. It’s a result of all of her physical training and all she has done to hone her ability in combat. She is very aware of how she moves at all times, ensuring that she is always ready in the event that something goes down. She likes knowing that she’ll always be prepared to move properly and precisely when necessary. She is strong, but above all, she is quick on her feet.50. What are the prevailing facial expressions? Sour? Cheerful? Dominating?Kelivara’s prevailing facial expressions are a bit rough, and not entirely inviting. Unless she is presently engaging with someone she appreciates, she seems pretty unapproachable. Though if she is currently in the aforementioned situation, she does have a rather warm demeanor. She does smile!
