Azaele Sunbinder
(Art by fiship - Azaele on left)
I was tagged in this forever ago so I’m late but I DID IT! I think I’ll do one for a few characters because this was a good exercise.
Two head canons you have for your muse:
Emotional Instability: Azaele has very strong emotions and is prone to severe bouts of depressive or anxious periods. As a woman of her status, however, this aspect of herself must be constantly bottled and concealed. This can and does lead to meltdowns when left completely alone.
Mother Knows Best: Azaele is, in every sense, ruled by the word of her mother. Centuries of careful grooming and manipulation on her mother’s part carved Azaele into the spitting image of herself. There are times when Azaele questions if her thoughts and opinions are truly her own, but she never dares to falter in her obedience. It is very likely that she, as a mother, would be the same.
Three things that your muse likes doing in their free time:
Choir: While at home, Azaele enjoys joining the others living in the Dawnsinger monastic community during choir practices and performances where she usually takes the lead. Much of her ability and her pride comes from her voice, so she enjoys any activity which showcases it and brings her positive attention.
Jewelcrafting: Her profession as a jeweler calls for a careful and precise hand, as well as quiet space to do her work. No one is to bother her while she is hard at work, and the processes that go into what she does are time consuming and in many cases therapeutic. She comes off as an extreme busybody as long as she is at home and in proper condition to work, but she often just takes all of the time to be alone to catch her breath.
Catty Lady: Azaele has her two (three) cats and she loves them more than she loves herself. She spends her lazier days teasing them with their little toys and watches them play together. Her two cats, Onyssa and Eona, are regal golden-eyed cats with crimson and ginger fur, respectively, the coloration broken up only by their dark feet/legs and cream-colored chins. An additional third cat finds itself in her care quite often, being her mother’s cat Halyron. He is a fat ball of crimson fluff who enjoys wandering Silvermoon begging for scraps. He’s essentially part of the wildlife there now.
Two things your muse regrets:
Lost Love: There was once a time when Azaele was betrothed to a Lord of another wealthy family on Quel’thalas, with whom she was entirely smitten. Arranged though it was, neither party felt anything less than bliss. Not long after the arrangements were set and ready to be carried out, the young Lord fell ill and was unable to recover despite immense efforts by Azaele and the other healers. It is hard to say if her present lack of a love life is in direct correlation with this event, but nonetheless, she would never forget the man she couldn’t save.
Dear Sister: Azaele’s most burning regret lies in her treatment of her younger sister in the events leading up to her complete expulsion from the family. She really did love her sister, but an effort to maintain her pride and her mother’s good graces, she turned on her as well. Her final words to Evisaria were paid for immediately with a burst of fel flames, of which the scars remain to this day.
Two phobias/fears your muse has:
Past Mistakes: She’s made a number of influenced decisions that she now regrets - but these come with a fear of impending consequence to pay. Some of her past choices, if their products were to resurface in her life, could bring with them disaster and immense destruction. She prefers to push these thoughts away and go along like they are truly behind her, not a worry to be had.
Puppermaster’s Leave: Azaele’s had this one coming for a while now: the inevitable death of her mother which will leave her as head of House Sunbinder and the High Priestess of the Ivory Sanctum. In her mind, her fear lies in potentially never living up to her mother’s expectations in the roles. In truth, her fear lies in her innate understanding that once her mother is gone, she has to make her judgments and decisions for herself, and grow into her own person.
