It was grossly hot out, so I got inspired to do a quick sketch of the dazatsu family topless to cool off (Akimaro Mori left and Murasaki Shibiku right) and the mom getting super emotional while the dad thinks his husband's adoration of the children is the cutest thing ever.

My first ever OC gem. I've had the idea for months, but ever since watching 'Fragments', well, I got even more motivated to publish her (and Jasper needs a vacation and someone to love her and appreciate her unconditionally). This is an Orange/Gold Pearl I've given the nickname of Dimple because her gem is on her left cheek. However, she's not just any old Pearl; she's a shiny Pearl (like how there's shiny Pokemon, right?). Not only does she glow pretty in the sunlight and moonlight, with the power of her singing voice, she can strengthen gems, influence how they feel,dissipate their forms, and more, including that of the Diamonds. I'm still ironing out the details, but because Dimple is such a special, unique Pearl, and the only one of gem kind with the shiny quality, her master skillfully kept her a secret from the Diamonds so she could have her all to herself and a trump card if need be. So in Mother Gothel and Rapunzel fashion, she was isolated in a tower never having any contact with any other gem. However, that didn't mean that Dimple stayed in her dungeon like room all the time. She'd take advantage of secret passages crafted by the Peridots to listen in on what goes on. One day, she spotted her master interacting with Jasper, and heard whispers from other gems of her being a perfect gem born from the downgraded Beta Kindergarten, emerging to being arguably the strongest quartz soldier ever. However, to the upper echelon of gem society, she was still a quartz soldier and still a product of what they viewed was a trash kindergarten. Dimple's master delighted in taking advantage of Jasper's notoriety and status by commissioning her services even for trivial matters she'd rather not bother with herself. While Jasper never met Dimple face to face, Dimple empathized with her. Ever since, she'd fantasize about belonging to Jasper, singing her songs to make her feel acknowledged and receiving recognition she'd never, ever, get from her bosses or the Diamonds. Well, ever since Steven's Universal broadcast of the start of Era 3, Dimple may have newfound strength to break free from her prison and formally meet her crush.

I got around to thinking about the possibility of Atsushi having any blood relatives in existence. So I created one. I found that while the real author of the same name likely doesn't share a blood relation to this person, there is a renown author named Ramo Nakajima that once existed. A part of his story is that he was a heavy alcoholic and died from severe head trauma from falling down a flight of stairs while drunk. So my Ramo Nakajima is as follows: he and Atsushi share the same father, but Ramo's mother was an alcoholic making him born with fetal alcohol syndrome, and fifteen years later, he falls down a flight of stairs in public and hits his head in the pavement. Atsushi and Dazai happen to be there and help treat him until he could be carted off to the hospital. Being suspicious and following Ranpo's suggestion, they get Atsushi's and Ramo's blood tested and discover that they're indeed half-brothers. Atsushi is overcome with shock and grief, especially over the condition his younger brother is in and the hardships and possible horrors he endured. I did my homework on fetal alcohol syndrome symptoms and there's a great number of physical and mental deformities, including abnormal short height, low weight, hyperactivity, poor hearing, and emotional imbalance. Therefore, while atsushi may not be able to care for him full time, he's extremely protective when they are together.
