It's time to say goodbye to Monemvasia. The building on the right is Cellia, the guest house where I stayed. From my bed, I could see the sea & watch the sky gradually change from dark night to the red skies of dawn. Yes, I was awake a few times at this time of day (I never sleep well in strange beds). As I opened the door into a little courtyard, I could look up at the rock behind me. Apparently Giannis Ritsos, the poet, had been born in this room. Renovated from the monastery it had once been, it was one of the most charming rooms I've ever stayed in. Keeping the monastic feel of cells, but with mod cons. There was even an old bathtub with feet - yes, I had baths before going to the room where breakfast was served. It's a family run place & everybody has been friendly and helpful. I can recommend it as a place to stay if you are in this area. Totally delightful. Will now prepare for my departure: pack my bag & go for breakfast. As I was sitting in the courtyard, a little robin came for a visit. I'm taking this as a sign from Uli, telling me he enjoyed his stay with me here #Dec2016 #lambisstory #monemvasia #kellia #winteringreece #placeswithspecialenergy (at Castle Of Monemvasia)
