I like to bake 🥺👉👈 so something I think about is making puppy!Noah little dog treat shaped cookies to reward him with when he’s being good. the positive reinforcement. he surfaced from the studio to eat (he has a bad habit of skipping meals) -> treat. he’s being extra lovey and keeping you company while you watch your show -> treat. you can even teach him to perform a few tricks.

I love the idea of just ever so slightly conditioning him. Setting little daily goals for him, and if he achieves them all at the end of the day, he gets a little treat. Drinking enough water, getting enough sleep, eating enough, going for a walk. It’s your way of making sure that he takes care of himself.
He loves performing little tricks for you too! His favourite one is when you make a little twirling motion with your finger—it prompts him to do a little spin. It always makes him a little bit giddy with how dizzy he gets. Other times, you ask him to give you his paw, and he’ll comply—making a little fist with his hand, and placing it in your hand. When the two of you are out in public, the word “paw” simply means that you want to hold his hand. It’s always followed by praise from you, and the promise of a treat once you’re home.
Something that he’s recently learnt he loves doing, is kneeling on the floor beside you when you’re watching a show on the TV. You’ll be sitting on the couch, and give a soft “kneel, puppy” and he instantly falls to his knees beside you. You follow it up by giving him a treat and an affectionate headpat. There’s always a pillow on the ground, so that he’s able to rest on his knees without getting uncomfortable. You don’t make him stay in any one certain position—you allow him to kneel in whatever way feels most comfortable to him. Sometimes he kneels fulls upright—other times he leans his head against your lap. The position always makes his head go a little bit foggy, so by the end of it, he’s practically leaning his entire body against you. You’re always happy to thread your fingers through his hair, giving him little head scratches and pats.
I love the idea of making him sit at the kitchen island, just watching and waiting patiently as you bake his little dog treat shaped cookies. His eyes are so wide as he attentively watches your hands, barely holding himself back from begging for a treat. Once they’re in the oven, the smell is so irresistible—but he manages to refrain from saying anything. He’s your well-behaved puppy, after all. He knows that he’ll get a treat in due time.
Sometimes, when he notices that the treat jar is running low, he’ll find the dog-treat shaped cookie cutter in the kitchen, and simply place it on top of your desk, as a little reminder. You always giggle when you notice it. He’s so adorably endearing.
