1) Colson and Josh met at a 4th of July party that the younger threw. Tyler dragged Josh there since they were usually together for holidays anyways and Josh didn’t have any plans. He doesn’t remember much of them meeting, but remembers vague conversations about sex, parties and Colson’s daughter.
2) They began as a FWB situation that was secret from public, friends and family. When they officially started dating, they slowly told their friends and family but kept in private from the public reasons. Colson told Josh it was for safety reasons. Josh wondered if Colson would ever find out how capable he was of ensuring his own safety.
3) Colson proposed to Josh with Casie, Colson’s daughter, there to help. Josh said yes, and the three walked home like a happy family. It was at that point that they took their relationship public, now confident with their safety.
4) They adopted dogs together, Colson started Josh’s bird collection, and Casie started acting like Josh was her dad. But they wanted to extend the family further so they looked for a surrogate to bring a baby of their own into the world. Unfortunately she miscarried and Josh and Colson spiraled. They were both devastated and in constant bad moods, causing them to fight. One day, they fought particularly bad, and Colson walked out. Josh waited and waited, but he never came back.
5) They still interact now, even though they’re not together. But Josh is at a crossroad of hating and loving talking to Colson. Sometimes he’ll loathe it but act nice and accept the interactions, other times he’ll feed off of it but act like he doesn’t want to hear shit from Colson. He’s just confused. It’s hard to go from being engaged and starting a family with someone to nothing. Especially when Josh never got closure, and they never had an official end. The closest thing Josh got was finding out he’d been replaced.
