Despite the bit of tension that had lingered between the two of them ever since the Northwest-Finnegan engagement party and Sharpay’s first performance of her new songs, there were very few people on this island that Troy trusted as much as he did Kelsi. Especially when it came to a situation like the one he was in now. Because while she may have her own personal opinion regarding his love life, she’d never let it create a bias so strong that she couldn’t see the warrant in each side of the love triangle he found himself stuck within. Something he couldn’t say the same to be true for any of his other friends - Chad being firmly anti-Sharpay even still to this day and Ryan making it clear he wanted nothing to do with the situation. Which left him with the playmaker, the composer that he knew would always support him no matter what decisions he made in his life.

With both of their coffees picked up from the counter, he tilted his head to the side for Kelsi to follow him before navigating his way over towards one of the more secluded tables in the back. “You know, it’s kind of pathetic the more I think about it,” he starts off as he takes a seat with a sigh, setting the coffee down and fiddling with it rather than taking any sip. “I think I have more drama in my life than my teenage students. At least with them they have the excuse of raging hormones throwing them in every direction. I’m too grown for that, yet here I am, back in the middle of a game of tug-a-war that I thought I’d left behind me years ago.” Then again, he should have known better than to think it’d be so easy to let it all go. Especially considering the only reason why he’d given up Gabriella in the first place and let his heart be open to anyone else had been because she left him, not because he’d actually wanted to move on at the time. Breathing another sigh, Troy looked up directly at his companion and just blurted out what he had asked her here to discuss. “I think I know what I’m going to do. But… I wanted to know what you thought of it first.”
