Hathor was described as ‘the lady who dwells in the grove at the end of the world’ and her sacred sycamores were planted at her temples. For Sekhmet acacia was planted, the tree also featuring in Queen Hetepheres’ title ‘Leader of Slaughter in he Acacia House’. As the place where the meat offerings were presented to Sekhmet at Heliopolis, and dances performed for Hathor.
