"Hollywood My Home Town" (1965) features home movie footage shot by Ken Murray, showing some of Hollywood's greatest stars of the 20th Century in candid moments. Murray started shooting films in 1927 with a 16mm camera, capturing scenes of early Los Angeles, Hollywood Boulevard, and various studios. His footage includes stars like Will Rogers, Carol Lombard, Charlie Chaplin, Mary Pickford, and Douglas Fairbanks. Murray notes changes in Hollywood with the advent of talkies and showcases early film industry technology and stars like Rudy Vallee and Maurice Chevalier. Murray received a special Academy Award in 1947 for "novel and entertaining use of the medium".
