annie!! i want you to know that i literally think about ngcs all the time, it is such a happy place for me. pretty scenes and things happen all the time irl and it just reminds me of ngcs and it makes me happy; you really did such a fantastic job with it and years and years later it still sticks with me, and i think that’s pretty special 💛

you know what, it’s a happy place for me as well. I did this sort of thing where I went back through all my old notes and diaries and planners to sort of recap the past decade for myself and it’s astonishing really - I wrote NGCS when I was in a pretty bad spot in my life, probably the worst actually, but I still managed to write it. and finish it. something nice actually came out of that time. and rereading it kind of reminds me of the person I was back then, which is astonishing bc I don’t remember much of her and I spent a long time kind of hating her, but she was just trying her best, even with all the shit weighing her down, much like bilbo! and she found her happiness in the end, much like him. and I guess that’s something :)
in conclusion I am THRILLED that that ol fic has stayed with you this entire time, it’s stayed with me as well, and I am considering writing a drabble or two REAL HARD right now :D
