Still Your Friend || Kennedi and Lalita
Lalita had been keenly aware of it when Thursday came around. Did she not have enough going on in her life? Not enough friends? Those seemed like the safest questions to ask about why she was preening in the mirror extra long for a girl who'd snubbed her. She remembered a little late that she was planning on looking casual, so she threw her pin straight hair up into a loose ponytail and put on bright pink sweats and a white tank top with the black bra a bit obvious underneath, heading towards her kitchen. She'd make something... she knew Kennedi liked to make sweets as well, but surely she could appreciate it when she was the one being made for, for once?
She put together a no-bake chocolate cheese cake, not sure when Kennedi would text and say she was coming over, though she caught herself smiling when she finally did. Friends. She could do that! She wouldn't at all look at the other woman with her dimples and perfect eyelashes and think about how her cheeks were all rosy from blushing and the cold when she stole a kiss from her on the ice. No. And she definitely wouldn't think about- shit. What was she doing making something creamy and chocolate again? After the last time? She groaned and shoved it into her fridge and set out a plate with Chips Ahoy! cookies instead and let out a huff. She could hold herself together to be a friend. She knew she could.
