I remember Joan did an interview years ago and I think she moved into a new house or something and interviewer said that she no photos up but did have a photo of JFK and I thought that was really sweet.

Yep! She only had a framed letter that JFK wrote to her hung up on her walls, and no pictures. It was when she moved into her new Boston apartment in 1979. This was also during the time when her and Ted were split-up, but not like 100% officially divorced. It was a good time for Joan because she finally was able to gain that independence and small break-away from the Kennedys (and just Ted in general, lol) where she could focus on herself and do the normal things that the average person does like grocery shopping, for example!

"I will never be number two again. To my husband, to politics or anything else but will seek balance in my life now that I am successfully recovering from alcoholism." - Joan in the formal press interview.

I just love how she still kept a piece of Jack with her despite getting her own apartment and finally being able to get away from all the Kennedy drama temporarily. It just really goes to show how much she loved him and he must have been very special to her for her to have only a framed letter that he wrote to her and nothing else. Very sweet indeed :)

Here are some surprising facts about Kennedy:

❋ Her callsign, Zero, stems from a pinkeye incident in flight school where she was considered patient zero, although no one knows who actually had it first.

❋ She developed a new type of repair for an aircraft's hydraulics system, which is more cost-effective. It's known in aircraft circles as the KQ repair, though Kennedy insists no one calls it that.

❋ She and her siblings are all named after former presidents. From oldest to youngest, it goes Madison, Franklin, and Kennedy.

❋ She can juggle! A college friend dared her to learn it, and Kennedy doesn't back down from a challenge.

❋ She got in trouble in her first week of basic for talking back to a superior. It almost ended her Navy career before it even began.

I sometimes wonder what Jack smelled like. I don’t know why but it seems to me that he smelled “clean” like a fresh soap scent. I’ve actually been researching on what perfume he wore and I saw Eight & Bob and Jockey Club. I’m now on the hunt for those scents lol.

wait did u know that eight and bob’s origin story is intertwined with the kennedys, specifically jack and bobby? bobbybeing the reason it’s called ‘eight and bob’ 🚬 🚬

in the early 1930s, jfk smelled the scent on albert fouquet, a parisian socialite, and he loved it so much that he persuaded albert to give him a sample and so albert left him a witty little note the next morning: ‘In this bottle, you will find the dash of French glamour that your American personality lacks.’ #lol and then jack sent him a thank you letter letting him know that his friends loved it and begged him for “eight” samples more and if the production allowed it “one more for bob.” hence “eight and bob.” the cutest origin story ever

anyway it gained sm popularity that even male hollywood stars were begging for the scent too. jfk starting trends left and right!

this video. bobby is just. he befuddles me. i remember watching this for the first time and tweaking. like what is wrong with him

and jackie’s 1969 essay about bobby, a year after his death:

quoting this specific line is so gag worthy when you think of her where her mind was at the time….. married for one year to onassis….. who she married shortly after bobby’s death. need to scream
