It’s kind of unfortunate, but if you do anything game-dev related it’s probably a good idea to avoid using Kenney.nl assets in anything released publicly. The guy noticed that someone was making a similar game to one he had made, and so sicced his Twitter following on them. In the aftermath Kenney doesn’t take responsibility for the things his community did and calls people reporting on it “disgusting” (per his replies to the reddit thread). Which means that there’s now a hate mob of thousands willing to send death threats if they perceive something to be similar to what Kenney’s done before, with the guy himself potentially willing to use that mob as a first resort instead of reaching out privately.
