A little sneak peek on my Ken Washio 11-18 age reference sheet! His hair is still just an outline because I may change it. Plus, that is one gloriously thick mane and I need to see the underlying skull structure to keep his changing kiddo to adult proportions accurate while I draw the rest of the faces for this sheet. I'll have a better idea of what I'm doing once I get the row of profile views and 3/4 views drawn. He's so sweet faced he always looks a little younger than he really is. Gatchaman vs. Gatchabrat! Those ears. *snerk* Kiddo is sweet faced, but don't be fooled. I guarantee that for every instance of trouble the mini Science Ninjas find themselves in, Ken is equally guilty. He's just better at getting away with shit than Joe. Once I finish this row of faces I'll rough in eagle boy's hair evolution as well. Which gets reset between 13-14 because someone, I won't name names, but someone shaved his head while he was sleeping. Looks like there will be a ton of sketch studies in my future as I continue to learn to draw children. I’m currently studying proportional changes from ages 5-16. So here’s an 8 year old running with a kite from a time when kids still played outside! (Do kids still play outside???) Mini eagle has gained some height and hair and lost some teeth. I referenced a stock photo for this one, but I have to shout a big thank you to my friends with kids who have offered up family photos of their little monsters so I can study them.
