Mini Eagle and mini Condor in the timeout chair for fighting. Again. One of these little monsters had the foresight to stash some toys in the cushions and I’m honestly not sure which one. 9 ½ years! If my timeline is accurate, (and honestly, the show is all over the place) this is one year after Joe’s parents are assassinated, and two years after Ken’s mother dies. Easter eggs! This sketch is full of them. Supposedly the first cartoon takes place in the year 2001, which would make these two 80’s/90's kids, and that means they had awesome cartoons. Alternate universes and such! 😆

Looks like there will be a ton of sketch studies in my future as I continue to learn to draw children. I’m currently studying proportional changes from ages 5-16. So here’s an 8 year old running with a kite from a time when kids still played outside! (Do kids still play outside???) Mini eagle has gained some height and hair and lost some teeth. I referenced a stock photo for this one, but I have to shout a big thank you to my friends with kids who have offered up family photos of their little monsters so I can study them.

Twilight Zone

That weird, freakish moment when you resort to asking the Magic 8 Ball app what to do because you really don't have a fucking clue what to do now given 2 options. And you get an answer. And you ask a follow up question thinking you're going to get a contradictory answer. But you don't. So you ask the same question as the first time, only worded differently two more times, making sure you've logged out of the app all the way (just to make sure) and you STILL get the same exact answer as the first time. Now you're thinking the cosmos are trying to tell you something, but you're such a neurotic mess that you can't be sure, and really now you just need a drink and maybe lie down a while. Congratulations! If any of that made perfect sense to you, you might be a soccer (or insert club sport of choice here) mom during tryouts. I really need to just be tranq'ed up for this. It's really in everyone's best interest.
