“   and do you believe it to be true?   ”      obi - wan averts his gaze as she slips into the water,   pretending that he finds the glinting crystals absolutely fascinating.    he should not be here,   alone,  in this cave with her.   his mandate had been to accompany her as a guardian,   a protector,  not…    whatever this is.    he cannot help but look back at her at least briefly,   warmth spreading in his chest despite his best efforts to remind himself of the code.   he pushes aside the urge to draw a few steps nearer and instead takes one back,   away from temptation.      “   that these waters can cure any ailment.   ”

 “   WHETHER   I   BELIEVE   IT   TO   BE   TRUE      or   not   does   not   matter.   ”         spoken   softly,   submerging   herself   into   the   water   until   it   reaches   her   chin,   for   his   sake   more   than   her   own.   hair   spills   out   from   the   loose   braid   she   had   kept   it   into,   spreading   like   ink   across   the   pond’s   surface.         “   you   are,   after   all,   the   expert   in   all   things   magic,   are   you   not   ??   ”         swimming   to   the   edge   nearest   to   him,   his   momentary   distraction   proves   fruitful   when   she   splashes   at   him,   not   even   trying   to   look   contrite.         “   come.   join   me.   i   promise   nothing   will   bite   you.   ”

   sʜᴇ ᴡᴀsɴ·ᴛ ᴀʟᴏɴᴇ﹐ ᴀ sᴏʟᴇ sᴜʀᴠɪᴠᴏʀ﹐ sʜᴇ ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅɴ·ᴛ ʙᴇ ᴀʟᴏɴᴇ.  the moment she had sensed him, had been able to reach out to him, her legs had gone from under her. the floor had come rushing up to meet her and it had been the support for a weakened, shocked JEDI for what felt like an age. HE WAS ALIVE. and she knew where to find him. and so she stood, in the blistering tatooine heat, watching the familiar figure in the nearby distance. she pulled the hood from off the top of her montrals, allowing herself to be seen as she began to allow her feet to take her closer.   “ master obi-wan? “   her voice rang out, and for a moment she doubted herself. had she merely lost herself in a dream, or WISHFUL THINKING? the thoughts didn’t last long though, as she brought herself closer, she found herself pulling him to her and clinging in a tight hug.   “ i thought you’d been....----- “   attempting to pull back her emotions, she broke the connection of the hug, pulling back to look at him once again.   “ ....i’m so glad to see you. “  ---------------- @kepthope​

THE BATTLE RAGES ON   as ships explode into space dust above them and blaster bolts rain across the battlefield in a hail of fire and death. This is her first major battle. She and Cere had been called as reinforcements from a nearby system, their own battallion now mingling with the 212th in an effort to drive back a Separatist invasion. 

It is hard to focus with the chaos surrounding them, and the thirteen-year-old was unprepared to be thrust into battle-- and yet, Trilla manages to hold her own against the droids, for the most part. 

Until she’s separated from her master. She doesn’t notice until she’s quite alone, surrounded by both active and deactivated battle droids, and she feels a sting in her side-- but she’s not wounded. 

Cere. 

The momentary distraction, concern for her Master is broken off when a bolt sizzles a little too close to her ear, nearly taking off her padawan’s braid as she jolts to the side, quickly swinging her green-bladed saber around to deflect another barrage. 

Now, she notices she’s alone, and surrounded-- but not for long. Light-coloured robes are a welcome sight as General Kenobi arrives. Batting back a few more blaster bolts to the dying groans of droids, Trilla manages to reach his position. “ master kenobi! ” her cry is breathless and relieved, but then she changes her tune. “ i have them here, you must go help Master Cere, she’s been wounded. ”

Obi Wan, ever perceptive, is quick to notice when she isn’t quite herself. Her eyes lack their usual exited gleam and smiles have become few and far in between. Even without these signs he likely would’ve notice that something was wrong through the force. Her presence is clouded, laced with fear and anxiety. A heavy sigh escapes her lips as he approaches, and she keeps her gaze downcast, away from those concerned and observant eyes of his. “Good afternoon, Master,” she greets him, although her words lack their usual enthusiasm and warmth. “If you’re looking for Anakin he’s not here.”

HE’S BETTER AT HIDING   his worries and fears now, at least from others-- but Obi-Wan can still see through him. He can still see the anxiety nagging at the back of his mind, poking and prodding at him, the fears that Anakin has tried to silence. The council is no longer concerned (he thinks), but he knows that his Master can sense it. 

Anakin presses his lips together tightly, blinking and pushing his thumb against his brow to shove aside a nagging headache as his other hand manoeuvres a hydrospanner into a better position to re-attach a coupling in the joints of a scrapped cleaning droid he’d found, about a week ago, in the junk heaps of the lower levels. He likes to work like this when he’s worried-- but also when he isn’t, so that in itself shouldn’t have tipped off his Master. 

Frown doesn’t leave his features as he turns around, pushing chair away from desk and rising to his feet as Obi-Wan enters his side of their shared chambers. “ what is it, master? ” he asks, brow furrowing ever-so-slightly, hand still resting on the desk, hydrospanner beneath his fingers. “ i’m alright, you know. ”
