🦩REVIEW🦩 Infernium  (Nightshade Duology #2)  by Keri Lake  Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️5+ stars  🦩“Any god or devil foolish enough to lay claim to you will suffer my unforgiving wrath.”🦩 I have no words to describe how magnificent and complex this story is, each chapter sucks you in, and just the chemistry between the characters, the softness and the intensity behind all this gothic romance is just brilliant. Once again Keri has put herself in a new category with Infernium, if I thought Nightshade was amazing, we’ll Infernium has just made this duet a favorite of all times.  Jericho and Farryn are by far one of my favorite couples ever and Nigthshade is my favorite place to get lost in. " El bosque llevaba un tiempo sin comer. Dirigí la mirada más allá del macabro arco, hacia la espesura del Tañido de Brujas, la malhadada extensión a la que iban a morir los pecadores. Se había ganado su nombre siglos atrás por ser un lugar donde antiguamente se sacrificaba a las brujas y, dada su lúgubre historia, se había convertido en sitio de destierro para herejes y personas de moral corrompida. Los aldeanos lo llamaban «el Bosque Voraz», porque en ocasiones aparecían en la orilla los restos de los proscritos despojados de la piel y la carne. Algunos se encontraban en un estado tan deteriorado que solo el metal de los grilletes confirmaba su condición de desterrados. La siniestra entrada del bosque estaba hecha con huesos afilados y palos nudosos entretejidos y cubiertos de escarcha. A ambos lados, unos robles retorcidos, castigados por la intemperie y cubiertos de telarañas de brezos espinosos, formaban un muro impenetrable que se extendía centenares de hectáreas en ambas direcciones. El cielo estaba encapotado y, en la densa penumbra, costaba mucho ver algo a través del laberinto de troncos tortuosos, que se me antojaban cadáveres crispados de dolor alargando los brazos hacia lo alto. El bosque, salvaje y hambriento, aguardaba su siguiente comida, que estaba previsto que se sirviera a mediodía en punto. Bajé la vista hacia mis gastadas botas, cuyas puntas casi tocaban las piedras situadas justo debajo del arco, esa frontera que, cuando alguien la cruzaba, despertaba al monstruo que había al otro lado. Nunca había estado tan cerca del funesto umbral que daba paso a las cosas violentas que ocurrían entre aquellos árboles, fueran las que fuesen. Pese a que siempre había sentido curiosidad por saber qué había más allá, nunca me había atrevido a poner un pie en aquel neblinoso laberinto de árboles. Nadie se atrevía, salvo aquellos a quienes obligaban por la fuerza, pues el Bosque Voraz nunca devolvía lo que se le daba. Una ráfaga invernal hizo ondular el bajo de mi vestido negro y me produjo un cosquilleo en las pantorrillas que me alteró los nervios. El manto que llevaba sobre los hombros apenas me protegía del frío, que me calaba hasta los huesos. Me estremecí; no por el viento ni la gelidez del aire, sino por los rumores sobre lo que moraba entre los árboles. Algunos vecinos cuchicheaban sobre el ferovor, un demonio con un apetito voraz de carne humana. Creían que se trataba de una venganza de los indígenas, que se habían visto expulsados de esas tierras hacia el norte. Otros contaban historias sobre malvahadas, pequeñas criaturas del bosque en las que se encarnaba el alma de brujas despreciadas, que atraían a los extraviados imitando voces conocidas para alimentarse de sus despojos. La mayoría de los habitantes de Foxglove, incluido el gobernador, creía que el Ángel del Juicio vivía en el bosque y castigaba a quienes rechazaban a su adorado dios rojo. Fuera lo que fuese, devoraba a sus víctimas de forma indiscriminada, pues desde luego no todos los desterrados eran malas personas, como demostraba el hecho de que el bosque se había llevado a niños pequeños en una o dos ocasiones. "
