Let's talk mental health. There's been a movement for many years to destigmatize mental health problems. And from a certain valid perspective, yes, absolutely; no one should feel the stigma and then simply deny the problem. From another, also VALID perspective, no; we absolutely should not be pretending it's ok or it's normal or it's no big deal. Do not normalize being unhealthy or treating yourself and others badly or being unable to function well.
The woman in the clip shown is a lunatic. And pretending that she is not or that we need a sanitized way to say it has as much bad effect as it has good effect. It is ok for her to be embarrassed and ashamed. That would be progress. That would represent hope that she can be better someday. She needs to get whatever progress and help is needed to become willing and able to get a grip on herself.
And that might not include meds or "counseling". Sadly, the state of those fields is falling apart with widespread, blatant corruption. So anyone and everyone leaning on saying "get professional help" about such things is doing more harm than good.
But we can all be better someday. My biggest focus for improving is how we eat although I absolutely appreciate and support many complementary and alternative care concepts and modalities.
Our brains and our nervous systems need fat. They are built out of fat. And they run on fat. Humans need to eat healthy fats.
Never consume seed oils or any oil produced by chemical means of extraction. So this means no margarine, no corn oil, no soy oil, no "vegetable oil". And there are others. These oils absolutely cannot be produced by cold pressing. They were not, and could not have been consumed throughout history, only since food became a product of laboratories and factories. Eat saturated fats. Eat animal fats more than other fats. And do not limit them to a modern standard influenced by poor epidemiological studies or by dogmas.
And yes, better animal products from better farms such as those with a permaculture or regenerative agriculture philosophy are better. I am a huge fan and I supported incredible food economies, farmers, and farmers markets for 15 years before recently living through the world losing its mind and me moving to Florida. Now, even though few of us can afford those best quality animal foods right now in a crashing economy we still absolutely must eat animal foods of whatever is the best quality we can get.
