(1994) Power Drive

the genesis version of this was basically pure house. what is love. that sort of thing.

this is far more varied but still has a bit of a dance-influenced edge. 

despite being a bit weaker than its (VERY HEAVY) genesis counterpart, I find myself enjoying each track quite a lot. im giving it a rec.

(1995) Porky Pig’s Haunted Holiday

this appears to be the same game, released twice with two different soundtracks by the same artist.i dont get it. 

anyway: this instrumentation is downright bizare. some of the arrangement is really neat though. “Haunting in Japan 3″ is fascinating once the part at 0:33 starts up, short though it is.

despite the strangeness, beneath it all...there’s some good and often fun arrangement to be found here. maybe not the type of arrangement I’d keep, but it’s hard to knock it. 

personal highlight: “Ruins of Atlantis”

(1995) Revolution X

this sounds like carefully digitized samples. like almost entirely. 

the repetition gives it a bigbeat or house vibe, quite unintentionally.

despite that, I find myself enjoying “Inside Club X” for that vibe. 

overall though? maybe not something I’d recommend, haha
