keyleth was born into the air tribe of the ashari, a multiracial people that guard the openings of the four elemental planes across exandria. her mother, vilya, was meant to become the voice of the tempest, chief of the air ashari, but went missing and presumed dead on her aramenté ( noble odyssey ) in vesrah, and the duty thereafter fell to keyleth to succeed her father. after years of study, she left her secluded home to begin her own aramenté at the age of twenty, where she met and befriended members of the soon-to-be vox machina in a few short months. from a band of mismatched adventurers for hire, to reluctant heroes: vox machina aided in scourging the briarwood family from whitestone, defeating the chroma conclave, a faction of five ancient dragons terrorizing tal'dorei, and keyleth completing her aramenté to bear the mantle of the tempest. after a year of relative peace, vox machina were called upon to again face a world-altering threat, and eventually managed to banish vecna to a void plane after his ascension to godhood. keyleth resides as leader of the air ashari and has helped to establish better communication between both the four tribes and the outside world, and works often with the council of tal'dorei to stave off any other threat that lurks over exandria.
a mantle of dark green leathers that unfurl into a cloak of autumn-colored leaves, bore by the voice of the tempest. for times when keyleth is not wearing the mantle, she has received tattoos across her chest and arms that mirror the leaves swaying in the wind.
my portrayal of keyleth is primarily campaign based, though as i am still working through it (fenthras arc right now lmaoo), i will use the animated series as somewhat of a guide -- and i am more than happy to write with those that are based on lovm as well! ( this does include keyleth wielding the spire of conflux to defeat the chroma conclave, until/if lovm reveals why they kept that part out. )
