It was supposed to be a fun, girls night out with some of her friends. And it was, but there was just one small problem. Lucy could not hold her alcohol. Of course, they’d all been pretty sure she’d be a lightweight since she’d never really had it before, but even with slowly nursing her drinks, she felt lightheaded. But she hadn’t wanted to drag down anyone’s fun, so she did her best to try and keep up with the others. Well, within reason. There was no keeping up with one of them, since her tolerance seemed to be sky high.
But the more time went on, the more she felt like something was missing, something she found herself vocalizing quite a bit. “I miss Lokeeee....Where’s Lokeee...” she whined, looking around as if she expected him to materialize out of thin air. But that sort of thing only happened in manga, right?
“I think Lu-chan’s had a bit too much...we should probably cut her off, right?” one of her friends asked. “Oh, yeah, it’s probably a good idea. Maybe we should call someone to get her?” came the answering reply.
“Just call Loke,” another voice piped up, sounding far too amused with the situation. “She clearly wants to see him.”
Of course, she had no idea her whining had gone on for close to fifteen minutes before someone finally got her phone from her. A quick text was fired off to the male, asking if he could come get Lucy because they didn’t want her to get too carried away and get sick, or be unable to get home. With her phone back in her pocket, she laid her head on the table, a pout on her lips.
“Mister, why does Mister’s hair look like Mister has cat ears? Mister wears fancy suits a lot, is Mister, Big chest Lucy’s cat-eared butler person?” this child has no tact, nor a filter, so of course she simply asked her curiosity aloud without restraint, completely innocently.
....He’d been standing there for a while. She was starting to get a little concerned. Maybe he was lost in thought. Or maybe he was having some sort of crisis? It must have been an hour since she first spotted him, but she’d paid him no mind then and gone about her own browsing. She’d yet to find anything, but she’d noticed he was still there as she walked back by.
Well, if he was having trouble, she couldn’t very well just walk away. Taking care of others was in her nature, a habit she’d never been able to shake from her student council days. It was fine though. That habit was quickly coming in handy when dealing with the whirlwind of a person that Yuuka was.
Sucking in a breath, she nodded to herself as she made her decision. He’d stood there long enough. The least she could do was make sure he was alright. Surely nothing could go wrong there, right? Carefully, she made her way over, watching out for other shoppers.
“Excuse me,” she called, trying to draw his attention. “I noticed you’ve been standing at this display for a while now. Is everything okay?” she asked, tilting her head to the side. “It must be pretty important, if you’re putting this much thought into it..”
A grimace tugged at her lips as she straightened her back, having been crouched over for too long, dealing with putting barcodes and labels on some new books that had come in. On top of that was sorting some donated books and having to make labels and barcodes for those as well. She’d lost track of the time though, and looking up at the clock, she realized it was almost time for her lunch break. She stretched her arms over her head, wincing as her back popped, before moving to push herself up from the table she’d been working at.
She paused though, when the door to the backroom opened, her coworker leaning in the doorway.
“Hey Lucy-chan, your boyfriend is here to see you?”
The blonde blinked, a light blush rising to her cheeks. “E-eh..?! B-boyfri...w-what?!” The other girl looked just as baffled as she felt, though Lucy realized she had a distinct feeling of who it might be.
“He said he was here to see his honey, and when I asked him who he meant, he said your name? But, really! You finally got a boyfriend? Why didn’t you tell me!”
That was already causing misunderstandings, huh. “N-no, wait, he’s just a friend..” she tried to explain, but the other girl had already made up her mind about it, making Lucy’s blush even worse as she raved about how the blonde had managed to find a really sweet guy so she let her coworker push her out of the back room.
Subconsciously, she found herself fixing her hair, and definitely feeling the gaze of her coworker as she watched eagerly from behind the door. Lucy pressed her lips into a thin line, cheeks pink. This was not helping anything, was it? Still, just as she’d expected, her fluffy haired clansman was waiting for her.
“Loke, saying misleading things like that is gonna cause some misunderstandings, you know?” she said, resting her hands on her hips, raising an eyebrow at him. Though the stern demeanor lasted only a moment as a small, wry smile tugged at her lips. As much of a handful as he was, he was still a valuable friend. “So? What’s up? It’s not often you drop by without texting me first.” ....Unless he had, and she’d been so busy drowning up to her eyeballs in labels..
[text] If it’s not too busy, I’ll stop by the planetarium after work

♣: Here, have a not so regular (maybe even a dirty one) text message.
[text] Hey....did I leave something there last night?
[text] It’s..........kind of important. Would you mind bringing it over?
✍: For what my muse has written about yours in their diary.
Sometimes I feel like it should be illegal for some people to look as good as they do. I mean, seriously! Obviously, I appreciate the fact his uniform is a suit, but it’s unfair that it fits him so well. We were just having the usual “meeting” (does it really count if there’s only two of us right now?) and I just happened to catch him looking up at the Milky Way projection and he just looked so pretty I thought I was going to lose my mind right there! I did sneak a picture. Thankfully I had my phone on silent and the flash was off or else I’d never live it down. ...I probably shouldn’t be writing this here, but it’s fine. Not like he’ll ever find it. Maybe.
☎: For a drunk phone call.
“Lokkeeeee...” she whined as soon as he picked up. “Where are youuu? I miss youuuu...Where’d you goooo..” She pouted, poking her wine glass as if that would magically fill it up again. Or maybe empty it? Maybe emptying it would be better. Her head felt so fuzzy and light already. “I want to see you...” she murmured, a bit quieter as she laid her head down. “I want to see you right now...but you’re not here..”
☮: An argument I think my muse would have with yours.
She wasn’t jealous. She wasn’t. She was, in absolutely no way, shape, or form, bothered by the sight of him chatting up another girl. That charming, dazzling smile as those compliments flowed as easily as a river. “Ah-hem,” she coughed sharply. Right, the only reason she was irritated was because they’d made plans to meet up today so she could work on mastering her abilities as a King. Not at all because she was jealous. “Am I interrupting something? Or did you change your plans?”
ϟ: There's a storm going on and our muses are stuck together in a house- how will this go?
She always made it a point to be home as soon as possible when the forecast called for storms. Plue didn’t handle them very well, and she always tried to be there before the storm could even start. Today was no different, and she was glad Loke had been more than understanding when she asked if they could work on their project at her place because of it. The storm was just starting by the time they made it in and got settled around the coffee table. Plue was wrapped in a blanket in her lap, though she could still feel the slight, anxious tremors in his small body. Still, they started to work, going over the points they wanted to make for their paper and presentation--only to be interrupted by a loud crack of thunder.
Lucy couldn’t help the yelp of surprise that left her lips as she jumped slightly, unintentionally leaning into Loke’s side. “S-sounds like it’s getting worse out there..” It wasn’t like she was afraid of storms or anything, but she definitely felt a little unsettled when they got really bad. Loke opened his mouth to respond, but there was another loud crack and then the entire apartment was plunged into darkness. Her fingers grasped at the fabric of his shirt, Plue held protectively in her other arm. “There’s some candles in one of the kitchen drawers,” Lucy began, “though if it stays off, we won’t be able to do much work anyway..”
☾: It's in the middle of the night and my muse had a nightmare about yours- what does my muse do?
It was too late. His breathing was too shallow, his skin pale. Those once-vibrant hazel eyes were dim and dark now. He was fading fast, despite her pleas, despite her desperate cries of his name... Lucy jolted out of bed with a start, a loud gasp tearing itself free from her lips. Her room was dark, and it took her a few seconds to realize she was in her room, in her own bed. Her fingers dug into the sheets as she let out a shaky breath, one hand rising to wipe at the tears spilling down her cheeks.
She turned abruptly, fumbling on her nightstand for her phone. She barely looked at the time, knowing it was probably too late and he was probably asleep. Still, her heart flooded with relief when he answered, his voice rough with sleep, and sounding confused and concerned all at once. Under normal circumstances, she would have thought it was cute, but right now, she was just happy to hear his voice on the other line.
“Is everything okay...?” he asked. “Did something happen...?”
“No, I...” she swallowed hard, trying to hide the way her voice shook or the way she sniffled and rubbed at her eyes. “I just wanted to hear your voice...That’s all. I’m sorry if I woke you up..”
🦐- Your muse finds mine napping off a large meal/feast
One giant gyoza that weighed 5.5 pounds should not have been something one, thin college kid should have been able to finish on his own, but there were many unnatural things about him. The cost was almost 10,000 yen, but if he finished it within 60 minutes, then he could have it for free.
And he did not see any reason to give up on a free meal.
It had only been about 35 minutes, but Minato had managed to finish the massive portion, leaving a mess of grease on his plate. The staff had celebrated and congratulated him, eventually leaving him alone to deal with the few other customers in the shop. Unfortunately for them, his plans to leave were changed at the last moment as he found that it was difficult to keep his eyes open. Not even a minute after his plate had been removed, Minato rested his head on the table and quickly drifted into a silent, peaceful sleep despite the noisy restaurant he was sitting in, and the uncomfortable position he was in due to the fact that he hadn’t moved from his chair.
Anxiety bubbled in the pit of her stomach, eating away at her as she paced the floor of her apartment. “I shouldn’t have volunteered,” she babbled, “I was too overconfident. I thought I could at least write a short story for the contest, and now everyone’s expecting something great. I haven’t even finished the one I’m working on now! Granting it’s a novel and not a short story so of course it’ll take longer but--huh?”
Her babbling was cut short by the ginger haired male calling her name, and when she turned to face him, he gently reached out, cupping her face and pulling her forward a little before his lips were softly pressed against her forehead. Her eyes widened and her cheeks reddened, her lips forming a silent “o” as she stared up at him. He told her not to stress so much, that she should just relax for now, an idea would come to her and then she’d create something wonderful.
“You’re right..I was going crazy, huh?”
₪ - Your muse lays their head in my muse’s lap
One more paragraph became one more page, and one more page became one more chapter. The newest addition to the series she’d been reading was just too good to put down! She couldn’t help it! Though her concentration was finally broken when she felt a weight settle in her lap. She looked away from the book, expecting to see Plue in her lap, but no. Instead she found a head of fluffy orange hair attached to a rather sulky young man.
“Pfft, what are you,” she giggled, “some sort of big cat? Though I guess you do almost have cat ears.” She smiled softly, gingerly poking one of the strange tufts of hair before running her fingers through his hair. “Alright, you win. I’ll put the book down.”
☸ - Your muse comforts mine while they are crying
Her fingers curled into the fabric of his shirt as she buried her face in his chest, her shoulders shaking with her sobs. What right did her father have to demand she come home after ignoring her for years? What right did he have to demand she upend the new life she’d built for herself, grasping her own happiness with her own hands? She supposed she was lucky it was just a demanding letter, and not coming home to find her apartment ransacked, but she wouldn’t put it past her father to try something like that too.
It was supposed to be a study session today, for their group project due at the end of next week, but once she’d found that letter waiting in her mail, the only thing she could do was cry. She’d tried her hardest not to, that man didn’t deserve the satisfaction of causing her even more pain. But then Loke’s arms were around her, pulling her too him, and she broke completely.
“I don’t want to go back...I can’t go back, Loke, I can’t. I won’t.” She was grateful though. His arms steadied her, and the way he stroked her hair was calming. He told her that she didn’t have to, she didn’t owe that man anything, and even though she knew it was true, she only cried harder, relieved that she finally had someone on her side.
⌘ - Your muse interlaces their fingers with mine
It was such a nice day. It would have been a waste to spend it indoors, even if most of her free time was spent curled up in her favorite recliner with whatever book she happened to be reading. But today at least, she’d wanted to enjoy the fresh air, either taking a walk or shopping...or both! Of course, it being Loke’s day off, when he’d heard about her plans, he’d been more than happy to tag along.
“I’ll have to remember to make an appointment to get Plue groomed later too, I can’t forget that,” she was saying, when all of the sudden, she felt Loke’s hand slide into hers, lacing their fingers together. She blinked and looked up at him, raising an eyebrow suspiciously at him. He tilted his head just slightly, an almost imperceptible indication to look carefully behind him. Following his lead, she glanced out of the corner of her eye, seeing a guy watching them. He clicked his tongue in irritation and turned to walk away.
“Thank you,” she smiled, knowing he’d definitely just saved her from getting hit on. Still, he didn’t let go of her hand...but she supposed this time, just this once, she could let it slide.
☆ - Our muses go stargazing together
They’d been preparing for this night for probably a month. Once they’d heard the news about the upcoming meteor shower, plans had begun immediately. They were part of the Astronomy Club after all. This sort of thing was only natural, even if usually only a small handful of the club actually showed up. But that was fine. She’d prepared the snacks and he took care of getting the telescope set up.
The hill behind the university was generally the best viewing spot. Far enough away that the lights from the rest of the city didn’t interfere. Tonight though, they were the only ones that bothered to show up. Well, no matter. They still went about set up as usual, laying out the large blanket and lying on their backs.
Loke was quick to point out the constellations currently in the sky, and they spoke about school and work, but then the first star raced across the sky and Lucy let out a delighted gasp. “Look, it’s starting!”
Though they had the whole blanket to themselves, they somehow still ended up right beside each other in the middle, shoulders touching. All in all, Lucy would consider it a dream date--not that she was going to let him know that.
⌲ - Your muse hugs mine from behind
She bit her lip, brushing her bangs out of her face for the fiftieth time. She was pretty sure she was following the recipe right, but making something new was always a little nerve-wracking. It sounded easy enough to make, but there was always a chance that something could go wrong somewhere when she least expected it. As if on cue, two arms wrapped around her waist, and she let out a startled shriek, coming far too close to flinging pasta across the room. She heard Loke chuckle as he set his chin on her head and she huffed, cheeks flushing as she leaned back into his chest.
“I’m seriously going to get you a bell if you keep sneaking up on me while I’m cooking,” she grumbled half-heartedly. “Besides, I told you already, you can’t sneak any! I’m almost done, so just be patient!”
Well, it wasn’t like she really minded having him close by anyway...
🍊 : does my muse desire romance? is it something they would actively seek out, or prefer to happen more “naturally”? what is their love life like? do they have any exes or past flings, or crushes?
Lucy absolutely does. She’s a hopeless romantic by nature and it’s something that interests her greatly. She isn’t opposed to seeking it out, but it never seems to work out for her, but she thinks having it happen naturally would have more meaning anyway, so she’s content to see where things go, even if she’s teased by her friends for not having a significant other. As for her love life, basically nonexistent. She has no experience with dating at all, thanks to how controlling her father was despite ignoring the majority of her existence. As for a crush...well, that’s a maybe. She’s not sure yet, but it seems like there’s a little seed about to bloom in her heart!
🍉 : which of the four seasons suits my muse best, and why?
She’s a very bright and sunny person, friendly to everyone she meets unless they’ve given her a reason not to be, but her temper is a bit tempestuous like a thunderstorm. I think spring fits her pretty well because of that, because of the phrase “April showers bring May flowers” even though here, summer is the more stormy season lol. Summer could also work well for her though. A season with lots of sun.
