weâre the stars || sabito & lucy
Sabito blinked in confusion, his serious demeanor shattering by how taken aback the woman before him looked by his request. Well, she had stated that she was just a normal woman who just happened to have become a King. And she may have been right about Loke embellishing things. It seemed as though he had explained nothing about the kind of person Sabito was to her. To see her so completely caught off guard also made him lose some of his composure.Â
He parted his lips to speak, to interject that if she didnât feel comfortable with it that he wouldnât force her, but then the woman released a sigh and stammered out an agreement. Sabito let out a heavy exhale of his own, the muscles in his body loosening as his shoulders slumped slightly as if in defeat. âI wonât force you. If you donât feel comfortable. Iâm not the type of person to fight someone who has no intentions of fighting back. But itâs said that the Kingâs have fierce strength, so I simply assumed..â his words trailed off there.Â
What had he assumed? He guessed he thought because Kingâs were so powerful that they would be battle hungry. He never guessed that one would be a little hesitant in fighting with him.Â
Now he looked like the bewildered one. Lucy laughed sheepishly, before letting out a heavy exhale. Okay, Loke was definitely going to get an earful for this. At least give her all the details before doing something like this. If heâd fought the guy, he could have at least given her a heads-up that he might want to test her strength. Sheâd even understand! It was only natural to want to see how strong a King was if you were going to join their clan. She could especially understand given the fact she looked pretty ordinary for a King. There wasnât anything particularly powerful about the way she carried herself or acted.
âN-no, no, itâs okay. It just...surprised me, is all. I wasnât expecting it, but that probably means Loke thought itâd be funny to throw me for a loop...â He did like teasing and flustering her, after all. âBut I understand. Itâs natural to want to test a Kingâs strength if you want to join their clan and youâve never seen them in action or heard about them, right?âÂ
She didnât have any rumors or urban legends about her like some of the other Kings. She remembered hearing how the previous Red King had been immensely strong, in both presence and power, like a raging animal who could only be stopped by someone equal in strength. Of course, the current Red King was powerful too, but her strength was quieter, steelier. If the previous King had been a raging animal, then the young Red King was like a phoenix, rising from the ashes.
She shook the thought from her head and started to walk outside. âFollow me. There should be a big enough clearing behind the planetarium.â
