Slice of Life

a/n: first request kinda nervous, hope its what you wanted anon

You were all spread across your dorm living room, with you in the kitchen to make a late dinner for everyone after a busy week. As you cook, Taehwan quietly walks in and stands by the counter.

“Is it gonna be much longer? Hyunminie’s acting like he’s never eaten before.” He complains playfully, causing you to jump slightly as you didn’t hear him walk in. He snickers softly when you jump, leaning to look over your shoulder as you cook.

“No, it shouldn't be too much longer, maybe ten minutes at most.” You respond softly, leaving the food simmer for a bit as you move to lean against the counter opposite him. “You said your throat was a bit sore, right? Want me to make you some tea?” You offer after a few moments. He smiles warmly in response but shakes his head.

“No, I’m okay hyung, thank you though.” Taehwan responds, patting your shoulder as he walks out. “I’ll let them know the food is almost ready.” He calls back to you as he heads back to the living room.

A few minutes later, you walk into the living room with a few bowls of bibimbap. You hand them to each of the boys, who thank you before you head back to the kitchen to grab yours and Sena’s bowls. 

Once everyone finishes, Hyunmin helps you take the empty dishes out to the kitchen to clean them up with you. You both set the bowls down on the counter and Hyunmin tries to playfully shove you out the way.

“I can wash it all up hyung.” He grins at you as you move out of the way of the sink.

“I‘ll dry them then.” You laugh, grabbing a clean cloth and leaning by the counter as he starts filling the sink with hot water. “Was dinner okay?” You ask after a few peaceful minutes of drying and putting away the dishes.

“Yeah, it always is.” Hyunmin smiles warmly.

After you both finish cleaning the kitchen, you both head to the living room and you drop on to the sofa next to Jaein and Rukia who were trying, and somehow failing, to connect your Switch to the tv.

“Want some help?” You ask playfully, grinning as Jaein passes the Switch controllers to you.

“Yeah, please.” He grumbles, both him and Rukia watching you connect it.

“So, what are we playing? You ask once you properly connect to the tv. “Smash Bros, Mario Kart?” As you propose Mario Kart, everyone loudly agrees, causing you to laugh as you go to turn it on. “Alright then, someone wanna grab the other controllers?” Sena nods and quickly runs to yours and his room to grab the extra controllers. Once he gets back, you start up the game and connect the controllers, passing them around to everyone.

For the next hour or so, you all play with Hyunmin and Rukia winning the most rounds, much to both yours and Jaein’s dismay.

“You guys have to be cheating, I swear.” Jaein complains lightheartedly.

“Right, like no way you win that much in a row.” You join him in complaining, causing the other boys to laugh at your antics. “Well, anyway, we need to be up early tomorrow so I’d say it’s time for bed.” You say as you turn the tv off and stand up while the boys, mainly Sena and Taehwan, groan dramatically.

Once everyone heads to their rooms you turn all the lights off before you head to yours and Sena’s room, quietly walking in and through to your shared bathroom to do your bed-time routine. As you finish up with your skin care and start brushing your teeth, Sena walks in and leans against your back.

“You know, I feel like we don’t say it enough…but we really do appreciate you looking out for us hyung.” Sena murmurs softly. In response you simply hum and nod. After you finish brushing your teeth, you gently lead him back to your room.

“I know you do, you all show it in your own ways.” You respond softly, turning on the soft , warm lamp in the corner of your room before you both get into your respective beds.

The next morning, you wake up to Sena quietly getting ready to head out for an early morning dance session.

“Sena?” You mumble groggily. 

“5am hyung.” He responds, already knowing what you were likely going to ask. In response, you simply hum and bury your head back into your pillow. 

Later that morning, your alarm blares and you tiredly switch it off, rolling out of your bed and heading out to the living room where Taehwan and Hyunmin are already awake and chatting quietly.

“Morning.” You call out tiredly as you pass through into the kitchen to make yourself a coffee. They both respond with a quiet “Good morning” as you lean back against the counter, willing yourself to be more awake as you wait for the kettle to boil.
