Peach Tree Dreams
A/N: honestly I just wanted to write a completely self indulgent kfp fic. It's a reading insert because that's what I have most experience writing. It follows a human getting transported to the kfp universe and yeah its kinda dumb but I'm writing it for me and anyone else who needs a wee bit of escapism. This is just the intro but I would love any feedback you may have!
Sun warmed grass, a gentle breeze, and the pleasant smell of peaches. Your conscious mind was awake enough to recognize a dream but your thoughts were still hazy. Everything was a bit blurred around the edges. Still, you stirred. Sunset turned the sky into a watercolor painting and a calm voice alerted you to the presence of another.
"Nice day, isn't it?" It was. But who the hell said that? There was no one else you could see. Save for a few butterflies and a tortoise basking in the late evening sun.
A pause. And then the tortoise moved. "I agree, nature is truly a sight to behold."
Right... I'm dreaming. Cautious, you approach the reptile.
"Hello..." Flower petals begin to fall from the sky like a gentle pink rain.
"I won't keep you long," the tortoise has an oddly human face and begins to stand upright.
"Tomorrow is a big day. For you and everyone else. Please be patient with your new companions, some of them are a bit prickly. But they will help you learn important lessons, and you them. Come, sit." A clawed hand beckons you towards the cliffside.
You sit in comfortable silence as the moon takes its spot in the sky. Your eyelids grow heavy and the last thing you hear is a quiet command.
"Rest."
