You often describe yourself as evil in your books - when did you start viewing yourself as such? And maybe, more importantly, do you still view yourself that way?

When the pursuit of goodness was out-weighed by the evil nature of what I had become, that’s when the scales were tipped. 

...this doesn’t mean that I can’t still be evil while pursuing good, you know.

When is the last time you saw Gabrielle?

Two years ago? I see her when she wants to be seen. Sometimes she takes my feelings into account; most times she doesn’t.

Do you ever get tabloid hounds coming after you anymore, what with the published author/rockstar history in the not-to-distant past?

Absolutely, though far more rarely than you’d think. I tend to be...relatively careful with it, seeing as I never actually age, but there are quite a few wonderfully hilarious conspiracy theories out there around the Rockstar Formerly Known as The Vampire Lestat--my personal favorite being that there are and have been several ‘look-alikes’ for years, so that I might maintain the appearance of being immortal. It’s always me, of course, but I enjoy having a similar theory surrounding me as Paul McCartney. Makes me feel quite a bit more important, even if it is ridiculous. 

-pauses, grins-

My agency has even been approached to have me on Dancing With the Stars--Louis refused to let me do it, though. Wouldn’t that have been fun?

I'm dreadfully curious - have you been working on any music lately, or is the rock-star life behind you?

I still play and still compose. The quality has improved, though my desire to share it with anyone has died, for the most part.  

I’m more comfortable these days playing guitar in the parlour, or out on our balcony. We no longer keep a spinet or piano in the house--so it’s mostly the guitar. An old 1979 acoustic Cortez; I’ve had it for a long time. 

Louis tends to be my only audience. Louis and the occasional wandering tourist on the street below.

Awww, did being a rockstar bore you so quickly? I'll take what I can get, though.

Not at all, darling, though I think we can say it ended rather traumatically.

I'm not the anon from before, but everyone has creative winters. I'm sorry to hear about the melancholy - that's a real bitch to deal with. Take care of you, and I'll be delighted to see you around again ;)

//thank you so much! And, honestly, I spend most of my time so creatively tapped that I find it insane that I can dig deeper to RP, so this was awhile coming. I suspiciously feel like, once school starts back up, I’ll get the bug again.

did you feel the same way with David? His turning didn’t seem planned, but knowing you, I wouldn’t be surprised ;)

David became my friend almost against both of our better judgements; it began with me wishing to torture him, just a little, as leader of the Talamasca, and with him curiously allowing it for what I’m sure he told himself was ‘research.’ 

David was...an unusual case. I have no regrets.
