in my whole life of 55 years, have never been on TV. in the past 3 weeks, have been interviewed twice on local TV stations in Portland, Oregon and Redding, CA. kind of weird to get recognized twice so far on the road from these interviews. 1st time in the Coyote Café at breakfast and the 2nd time on the side of a road by a cool looking goateed-bearded guy named Dusty. both wanted pictures with me as they said, “you’re that guy…you’re that guy on TV” … again, not words I’ve ever heard before.

in the next few days, will share some cool things I’ve learned from living on a bike for three weeks straight. have gotten a little spoiled for the past 4 nights by staying with 2 cousins who are sisters in Redding & Sacramento (Michelle Kreider & Angela Putnam)…both made home-cooked meals for me; it hasn’t rained; got my first full rest day yesterday after 21 days; and had my first fly-fishing lesson last night in a river with Angela’s husband Jeff…(my, oh my, how patient he was with my erratic casting)
‘night everybody – onwards on the pedals tomorrow to Davis, CA, the ‘cycling capital of California’…can’t wait to see what that means…
