smoke on the water.
@kgxmin
the computer is slow.
that’s the first thing he realises, and it happens half a minute after he sat down.
still, it’s not strange for the computers to occasionally act up. they are, after all, very well-used by a lot of people and the amount of data that needs to be communicated to and from the server can become a little overwhelmingly much, he has to admit as well.
so, he continues on attempting to fix his paperwork. but the slowness of the device doesn’t fade. in fact, it seems to only be getting worse as time passes. and then, twenty-five minutes into his work something else catches his attention.
something smells strange in the office he’s camped out in.
a little sharp, a little musk. a little burned?
he frowns, looks around for the cause of the problem but doesn’t see anything. nobody left anything around that could be the cause for this sudden odour, and so he drops the subject so he can focus once again on the paperwork he’s trying to fill out.
then, not yet a minute later, the smoke billows up from underneath his desk.
his eyes fixate on it a split second after the movement is registered by his brain and the next moment, he’s already running for the outlet to pull the plug. whatever unsaved progress he’s made in the last twenty-five minutes be damned, he’s not about to be the reason for the next explosion within kingsman headquarters.
that’d be it, a rumour starting stating there had been no bombs, just wei messing up a few computers causing them to explode. he doesn’t want to be known as that guy.
his phone is pulled from his pocket easily, familiar number dialed. minjun is his go-to person for technical trouble, considering the male works quick and efficiently and is always very friendly to deal with. wei has honestly never had any trouble with the guy and doesn’t understand what some of the other agents tend to complain about.
“hello, min? it’s wei. look, i’m sorry for disturbing you, i know you must be really busy and i always hate to impose, but i have this little issue here with a computer in...” his eyes dart over to the door, attempting to remember which office he’s in. “3.A5. i was working on the computer and it was really slow, then all of a sudden smoke started to come out of the tower.”
his voice is as calm as ever, but he’s quick to add a reassuring: “i already pulled the plug, so if you’re really busy you don’t have to come right away but i’d appreciate the help.”
