My entire GOG ‘wishlist’ is on sale right now. *big eyes*
Someone on the next block over has been setting off fireworks since 6:15 AM, because apparently nothing says ‘Happy Thanksgiving!’ or ‘I am grateful for all these things’ like a bunch of explosions.

Are you staying home from work or school?
Luckily for me, I don’t have either work or school obligations, so I haven’t had to go any further than my own garden since the end times started.
If you’re staying home, who’s with you?
I’m bunkered down with Mr KH, and other than the odd quibble over what music to listen to or who gets to use the computer, we are getting along fine... and he’s my absolute hero for picking up the slack on all the necessary trips to re-provision and such.
Are you a homebody?
I am, as a rule, but I am getting a bit stir crazy at this point.
An event that you were looking forward to that got canceled.
Our monthly get-together with some friends for dinner and Tuesday Night Record Club (’like a book club, but with records!’) has gone by the wayside.
What movies have you watched recently? What shows are you watching?
The only film we’ve watched recently was The Ballad of Buster Scruggs... on the TV side, we’ve watched The Witcher (Mr KH was SOOOO confused by that), a couple of seasons of Endeavour, Deadwater Fell, Niall Ferguson’s Networld, and Turn: Washington’s Spies. Oh and we just finished Tiger King, so I am actually popular-culture current for the first time in my life!
What music are you listening to?
Mostly folky stuff, like Sandy Denny, Olivia Chaney, and Loreena McKennitt. And I’ve recently become obsessed (again) with Richard Barone’s Cool Blue Halo album.
What are you reading?
I’ve been doing a re-read of the ASoIaF books, and am about halfway through the 3rd one. I’ve also got a stack of things that are half-read... Wesley Stace’s Misfortune, the book of Dragon Age short stories that just came out, Dicken’s Bleak House, Tom Perrotta’s The Leftovers, Lucinda Hawksley‘s bio of Lizzie Siddal.
What are you doing for self-care?
Nothing that isn’t part of my regular routine. I’m pretty low maintenance.
jfc I have had 10cc’s ‘Rubber Bullets’ as an earworm for the last 24 hours and I’m going to scream. Thanks, news cycle.
I swear, sometimes the town I live in is like something out of a Frank Capra film.
Just got this e-mail announcement from them:
On Easter Sunday, April 12th, 2020 at 12 O’clock Noon, Freehold Borough Church Bells will ring in memory of the fallen and in honor of our fellow citizens who are risking their lives every day to protect and serve our community. Please join us on your front porch at 12 noon to think of our friends and neighbors who have passed on and to give a rousing round of applause and appreciation to our Police Officers, Fire Fighters, EMS Workers, Doctors, Nurses, Health Care Professionals, Service Workers, Public Workers, Truck Drivers, Grocery Store Workers and everyone else out there every day risking their lives to keep our families safe. Give a friendly wave to your neighbors but keep your distance and remain safe.
I think I’m going to cry. (Again.)
Not dead yet
Hallo and salutations from the Land of No Tech... we’ve had a perfect storm of device failures here at Casa KH - Mr KH’s PC refused to boot after a power outage, and the hard drive in my PC failed. Then my laptop refused to connect to the internet, and now that it will, the keyboard on it isn’t working.
Anywho... I’m still here (on Earth) but not so much here (on the interwebs). Also, consider this a reminder to back up yer computer regularly... losing all the important stuff on it (in my case, all my modding files) is an unpleasant way to learn that particular lesson.
Okay, it’s not Neil Finn, because they played 'Four Seasons in One Day’ and now Tim Finn is singing ‘Poor Boy'. So it’s gotta be Finn Brothers, and it’s probably one of the Frenz (Split Enz fanclub) live CDs but why he’s listening to it is still a mystery.
