1. How did you get into Dragon Age?

I was a bit of a latecomer to the series, not picking up DA:O until the Fall of 2010. I’d been playing Morrowind (my first cRPG!) for about a year as an escape after my Dad passed away, and was raving to an acquaintance about how amazing the open world was and in particular how much I adored a companion mod I was using (Kateri’s Julan, Ashlander companion). She said if I like companions-with-stories, I should check out something called Dragon Age: Origins.

I did a little bit of research and thought it sounded interesting, so I took a chance on the Ultimate Editon, which had just been released... I made a Tabris Warden, and by the time she’d been conscripted into the Grey Wardens, I was hopelessly in love with the game.

14. Favorite DA:O party combo?

I am so very boring, and almost always default to Team Andraste when I use a full party: Alistair, Leliana, Wynne. Lots of the time I just run around with Alistair and Dog, though.

97. What’s your favorite DA mod?

Favorite mod I didn’t make was Cmessaz’s Improved Romance Scenes - Alistair. My first playthrough was a unholy mess of broken plot flag disappointment, and IRS-A fixed the mess in subsequent runs. (Now that the mod isn’t available, I can’t see myself ever playing DAO again, so essential is it to my install.) (Runners-up would probably be Risi’s lovely Inquisition hair ports, tmp7704′s female proportions fix, Entopie’s epic Loincloth Fashion package, that Vaddi-esque additem script for DAO, and the No Dust Buildup mod for DAI. My needs are simple. :))

Favorite mod I did make is either my Alistair morph, Moira Cousland’s revenge albatross, or the ridiculous Shartanigans. .

I came here from your werewolf mod on nexus. Is there any way you could make it to where your eye mod affects the player model when a mod or console command changes the player model to a werewolf? For watever reason that model has no eyes either.

Oh wow... I have no idea how the game handles something like changing the player character model to a non-humanoid ‘creature’ model. I suspect that, in your case, that because the game doesn’t expect the PC to be a werewolf, it’s still trying to use the eyemesh (and texture) from the (humanoid) morph stored in the save. (Eyes are a separate mesh from the rest of the head.)

You might want to try extracting the player character morph from a save (with DA Face Replacer), editing the MOR with pyGFF, to change the eye mesh to the one used by the NPC werewolves, and then reimporting the edited MOR into the save. (I like to use DAO Saves for that, but IIRC, you might be able to use the face replacer utility.)

Be sure to make a backup of your save in case something goes wrong, because that’s all a lot of wild speculation and guesswork on my part.

Oh gosh, TY! The difference with the nose from one race to the other was really striking... the big problem with making him a Breton is that he's going to be useless if I want to actually play with him. (Bretons are better for magic-based builds, and shitty for stam builds.) Still, I have a really attractive bank mule now, so there's that at least. :)

@elisicle At first I thought it mitigates the chance slightly, since he does like Split Enz, but the Split Enz he likes the most is early-super-weird-costumes-and-hair-with-Phil-Judd-singing-a-strange-voice Split Enz and not New-Wave-catchy-pop-tunes Split Enz... so I’m gonna go with body snatched as the most likely option.

@elisicle Hey... years ago I did study conservation informally with a very knowledgeable woman who’d worked at the Met in NY, and even did some small things for a museum here; cataloging textiles, mounting and framing samplers, stabilizing quilts for display, that kind of thing. I was always too poor to go to school, though, and now I’m too poor and too old... I do putter sometimes with stuff I pick up in antique shops and flea markets, to keep my hand in, though.

The links to your Alistair romance and mage mods pages aren't working. Where can I find them?

They never did work, because I never finished posting those things. I’ll try to put together a list of what would have been on them, though I’m not sure how many of the mods are even available any more. (I haven’t played DAO in something like three years, and I used a lot of mods from the old Bioware Social projects area.)

I really did think it might be an issue on my end... my PC has been misbehaving and close to death since a power outage a month or so ago.
