Updating the boys (all the way back from 2022!) to be a little easier for me to make stickers out of and figured i might as well update their flags while i'm at it, since i'm not sure i even knew the mlm flag existed back then and i was never quite happy with how i did the background on sora's the first go round. i like this one much better!
Just started my journey to KH (discovered a year ago but stuck in CoM (love CoM so much btw THE ANGST'S CRAZY)) and man I genuinely love Destiny Trio so much,
Whether platonic or romantic (my aroace butt LOVES beyond romantic platonic soulmate kinda thing), I genuinely couldn't ship any of them just as duos, they're so inseparable for me personally and MAN i don't think I've ever posted this kinda post before. Genuinely feels like Sinnoh's Pokespe trio where it feels like a "Comes in package, do not separate." But the narrative CONSTANTLY tries to separate them. Like they haunt each other's narrative it's crazy I'm loving it.
I cannot wait to progress through CoM and finally go through all the games!
New post on my kofi! It's soriku!
will keep updating my progress there ♡
happy to get riku for kh4
okay so no offense to Sokai shippers at all but I don’t understand the hardcore Soriku antis that insist that Soriku is delusional because “Sokai is clearly canon and you’d know that if you played the games” cause like, have you???
I feel like I’m going insane. Where is the romance??? Where is it?? I can’t think of any scene that really stood out to me as romantic in the slightest
(Edit: Post posting clarity hit and I messed up my wording when I made this post the first time, I didn’t mean to say that Soriku is canon or that any ships are in general. I don’t really care about what ships of mine are. I just meant that I get annoyed when people shut Soriku down just because it isn’t confirmed, even though Sokai isn’t either. Hope that clears things up)
get this song out of my head. i think about these two idiots and i wanna animate it UGGGGHHRHHH
“ sometimes memory fails me sometimes ” ( <-song title)
yeah that’s right i’m yapping about this
just the lyrics in general made me think of sora and riku ohmygo and the start “where did you go?” can be both finding eachother and it’s just.AUUGGRHR i alr yapped about it to my partner haheahd. okay uh. the title too, from how sora looses his memories time from time, the first one can be about soras POV of finding riku and about riku at the same time (maybe kh1 or kh2 i’ll figure it out if i ever get the chance)
a short instrumental break before another “where did you go?” on the second half is i can see them both sitting on the sand in destiny islands (maybe realm of darkness too.) and it cuts to only sora being gone and riku sitting alone as the sun sets, and then the second half of the lyrics can be riku’s POV of finding sora and about sora too (basically the same but different povs..)
i also think of shots i might do, like both of them looking at the sky for different povs, like “the way you tilt your head up in the sky, when a plane flies by”
i dunno i’m basically dumping all of this from my brain but yeah! maybe i’ll do it maybe not…depends on my time.guh.(maybesomeofyallcangivemeideas….pleas..)
Something that I'm wondering about the kh4 story is whether or not the characters of old within Quadratum will have some sort of conflict with Riku about the fact that Riku uses the darkness. My reasoning for thinking that that happening is a possibility is that darkness not necessarily being evil is a, seemingly, relatively new idea. We see the new(er) keyblade wielders have this idea until they're proven wrong (mostly by Riku himself) and we know that the idea of darkness being pure evil is there a long time ago too.
All of the students in Scala are taught this in Dark Road too, we see Eraqus also teaching this to the wayfinder trio as well, but it goes back further all the way back to when the keyblade wielders that we see in Quadratum came from. Vali is obviously from Dark Road, so we know he got taught about that concept in Scala as well (and he also has the memory of one of the underclassmen getting possessed by darkness and then killing him, yikes, it definitely gives him an even greater reason as to why he could have a conflict with Riku about it). Missing Link also had a lot of Light = Good Darkness = Bad stuff going on, or it least it seemed that way from what was in the beta. They're fighting for the light but also they have the Book of Prophecies with them, a book that speaks of darkness taking over the world unless it's stopped by the Child of Destiny. That whole book, from the perspective of the people of old Scala was probably some sort of proof that darkness is evil! (Let's not forget that it was written by the Master of Masters, who HATES the darkness and wants to get rid of all of the 13 ancient darknesses, he totally could have included his own biases along with stuff he saw in the future). We see at least one Missing Link (/person from old Scala) character in Quadratum (Sigurd, who technically shows up in Union X) and he has DEFINITELY read the Book of Prophecies. This also means more people from that era could be there as well for even more conflict, yay! And last but not least we have the Age of Fairytales, we only see Strelitzia from this era so far and I'm the most sceptical of more characters from this era showing up in Quadratum (considering. The circumstances..) but it's still important to note that even back then darkness was something that was only feared and hated.
All this (probably unnecessary) rambling aside, I truly think that these preconcieved notions could lead to the people from the past either being scared or hateful towards Riku. I think it would be VERY hard for them to fathom that darkness isn't only the evil they thought it to be, it's not just a parasite that they need to get rid of and that it's a natural part of life that you can embrace. It'll probably be especially hard because it's an idea they've had for so long and to them it's only been validated until suddenly there's this guy just casually USING the darkness?? The only keyblade wielders they know that have been consumed by it, by turning into darklings or just getting seemingly possessed, why does this guy just seem fine?? Something surely must be up..
This could actually be an interesting opportunity too! These old keyblade wielders having their beliefs shaken and maybe changing their world view, it would make for great storytelling and I think it would also be very fitting to have these characters change their stance so that they have more of a reason to see the Master of Masters as a villain! The MoM wants to get rid of ALL of the 13 Ancient Darknesses; he is essentially a Light extremist. No one would find this a bad thing, until they learn that darkness isn't inherently evil and that it's actually a natural, IMPORTANT, part of the world. Without Darkness, the Light will be blinding. You need both, you need balance. And these characters can learn this by embracing the darkness.
Now I'm not saying that this should ONLY happen because of Riku, I think it would be cooler if they already have some doubts about what they've been taught. I like the idea of them noticing some flaws in their thinking earlier on and then later when Riku shows up there can be conflict, because an integral part of knowledge has just been challenged just by this one guy! Riku can be either maybe a final push they need or just another part of a reason to learn and start being more openminded about the darkness! At least, I think that would be cool :))
Thank you for reading this all the way through if you did, I did NOT intend for this ramble to go on for so long😭 all I wanted to do was mention the conflict that COULD happen between Riku and the keyblade wielders of old and then I just kept writing until THIS whole mess happened😭 I hope this wasn't too messy and that it made some sense, I also hope that it maybe gave anyone some new ideas to think about!
